Mexico/US Border with California? San Ysidro, CA?
Beautiful picture and I see what looks like a factory in the distant background, but nothing to give me a feel for location, etc. The fencing looks as if it could be made with bamboo poles, so that might point toward an Asian setting……
Give us a clue!!!
Mexico border barrier fence?
wow this is hard….. maybe haifa where theres smokestacks?
It looks like Lake Pontchatrain by New Orleans
Gulf coast?
are the smoke stacks…oil rigs?
What a beautiful picture….Greta
gorgeous picture!
I’m gonna say New Orleans. Looks like an oil rig in the background, so that’s my guess for what it’s worth.
Maybe from the post-Tsunami back in December 2004 in Banda Aceh???
Nice pic…must be from a Nikon!
Offshore oil rig in the background… off the coast of Venezueala
Persian Gulf with oil refinery in the distance….
I’m gonna say its a “sewage fence” in New jersey. LOL
Speaking of Nikon (lol), what DSLR do you prefer? I’m not prepared to pay the BIG bucks for one, but I’m leaning toward a Nikon D80. Any thoughts on this topic?
Adam – My first two digital cameras were Fuji and I thought they were great for the money, but somewhat limiting. I am a camera guy and it took me quiet a while to move away from my 35mm SLR’s with assorted lenses and filters. I think I enjoyed the mechanics of photography as much as the end result, but once I spent a day shooting up the town with a rather cheap digital I was kind of hooked. Plus, I love having a complete darkroom at my fingertips.
I’m thinking the D-80 might be the camera for me based upon reviews and sample shots. It will be my serious camera and my others will be for those spur of the moment clicks.
Thanks for the info!
Hmmm….. now for the “huge” hint……… That must put us in Venezuela and the refinery in the distance must be………… lol
Japan?
Would it be somewhere in Fiji taken with a Fuji???!
BTW, did you lose your SD card as well?
Since you stated in an earlier Pic-of -the-Day that you would be mixing in some pictures that are from areas that are presently in the news, my guess is the Gulf of Oman/Arabian Sea region…..the coast of Pakistan.
The bamboo poles, crude fishing techniques also play a part in my guess. “Smoke” stack in the background could be a power plant, possibly nuclear.
Mt Fuji??? Japan?
These are pearl nets, for the oysters. The best pearls are in Japan my friend. Where in Japan though???? I know nothing about Japan.
Okay yes I did do quick research, I am going to say you went to Ayo Bay in Japan. If not you went to a place covering a chemical spill or incident and noticed this shot.
I am loving making up a story Adam, it brings out the writer in me.
Final guess… Nam Kem fishing village and I have no idea whats going on with what’s be produced in the background.
Hey Adam sometime I would love for you to blog some Apple recommendations. I am going to make the big switch but I need a cheap way to do it.
It must be Venezuela because of the oil rig in the back ground
That’s where the frog (from the previous picture) lives!
I noticed that Greta came over here and didn’t make a guess!
I’m thinking Venezuela, and the nets go out accross the tide and are only for the surface water, so I’d think keeping jellyfish from the beach resort area.
Betty.. the frog….. too funny!!!
Adam…you are a riot! *L*
I see Michael is in the running for gadgets too!! Geeze, this blog is gonna make me go do my homework and add more to a wish list!
I’m with Greta…very nice compostion and color! Enter it into a photo contest!
Your fishing net?
What’s left of Noah’s Ark?
