FOXNews.com On The Scene

About Time

Since it is a weekend and I took a day off, I figured there would be no need for an OJ update. But I do have another one that made me smile this morning. Check this story out. Also, on Veterans Day, I am going to post my favorite military photos from my time at Fox.

SO…HERE’S THE STORY.

Apparently, the king of Spain today (it is still Saturday here….so I guess I really didn’t take a full day off!)….OK…apparently the king told Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to “shut up” during a heated exchange at a summit of leaders from Latin America. Chavez, the same guy who called President Bush the “devil” on the floor of the United Nations last year, triggered the exchange by repeatedly referring to former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar as a “fascist.” “Fascists are not human. A snake is more human,” said Chavez.

Spain’s current socialist prime minister, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, responded during his own allotted time by urging Chavez to be more diplomatic in his words and respect other leaders despite political differences.

Chavez repeatedly tried to interrupt, but his microphone was off. Spanish King Juan Carlos, seated next to Zapatero, angrily turned to Chavez and said, “Why don’t you shut up?” The Venezuelan leader did not immediately respond, but later used time ceded to him by his close ally Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega.

Maybe the U.S media can hire King Carlos to moderate our presidential debates. Seriously though , it’s time for this Chavez character to “disappear” from the scene. I can’t think of anyone anywhere benefiting from him being in power………other then himself, of course.

Looking forward to the Military photos :)

I wish we had someone leading this country who would say “shutup” to those trying to walk all over us instead of trying to keep from hurting “their feelings”. We are going to “politically correct” ourselves to nonexistence.

That is my favorite story of the day! So glad he did it. I am ready for some pix Adam! Kid has a line on some legos on ebay, this may be my only opportunity online though.

In a way that’s actually comical. Good for the King of Spain! Chavez couldn’t conduct himself in a diplomatic setting, what a surprise. I wonder how long it was before he realized his mic was cut off…hahahah

John… good point, nobody benefits from him being in power. With the new laws he passed, we have a long way to go. The people living in Venezuela should seek refuge in Spain.

I enjoyed this story Adam, it was funny…check back for the photos.

Enjoy your weekend off Adam

Please no one leave your country in Venezuela, stay and take your country back for the people. If we had a United Nations that really worked, they would step in and kick Mr. Chavez out on his petard. Let him go to another country, if he can find one that would accept him.

Adam, military photo’s, GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to it.

Long live Spanish King, Juan Carlos!!! Hugo Chavez is obviously a bully and it sure is good to see someone take him to task for his childish and ill-mannered behavior.

Let’s all applaud for the Spanish King- I love it!

And the creep had to use someone else’s time to keep his big mouth going-

And thanks for posting the humor for the day article-

I was getting weary on another blog site- too much onslaught so your article was a great change of pace-

Where is our picture for the day?

Hope you are having a good week-end- I talked to my son yesterday and told him how cool you are- my kid is training now for the SWAT team- He is still the instructor for the police academy-

Comment by John

I went to a “wine” event too today,………………….I’d finally had enough of the “wining”,…. pulled a King Carlos, and told her:”Why don’t you just shut up?”……..and left.

Jusy kidding ladies,………..just kidding.

I’m so glad someone finally told Chavez to “shut up”….hilarious!!
He so deserves the comment.

Hey, Housley, can’t you talk about something more important than Hugo Chavez? How about more right-wing propaganda concerning this Iraq mess?

Comment by John

Adam…you are so right about Chavez. He’s already buddying up with the Cuban,Bolivian and Nicaraguan leaders. He wants to establish a foothold in these regions, then spread his sick ideology throughout Central and Latin America. If we allow him to continue this we’ll be fighting an ‘Iraq War’ in our own backyard before long. We need to take this guy very seriously. He may come across as a crazed lunatic….but then again, so do all succesfull dictators.

Adam–

I hope you got to taste the vino!

You have cool friends- My kid lives in Virginia- but the training for any SWAT team has to be intense-

I am so looking forward to when you start your Los Zetas articles-

And I am totally with you about this Chavez character- isn’t this how the Hitler’s get loose?

He is dangerous- and he needs to be controlled- and I THANK YOU for covering him- because the first step is awareness-

Happy Veteran’s Day!!!!!

Isn’t California not faring well these days?

The oil spillage has me concerned- because of the water life- The amount of the spillage keep changing-

I listened to the coverage on it today with Shep and do you know if this was an accident or was their some kind of negligence involved?

The Exxon event- the captain of the ship was drinking vodka?

Comment by John

Susan……..the last report I heard was that the authorities were investigating this incident as a criminal investigation. I’m not sure if they determined this after they interviewed the crew, or they are calling it such so they can detain the crew for further questioning.

John-

thanks for the heads up- The fires probably killed all sorts of wildlife and now this spillage-

And if this turns out to be because of someone’s reckless behavior, I hope the punishment fits the crime!!!!!

I want Adam to post the picture of the day, so I can read your comments- you are the best!
