Corral Fire Latest

The fire (now officially called the Corral Fire) is 35 percent contained. The eastern flank considered most active at this time.
Air assault on fire grounded until sunrise; hand crews will work through the night. At least 51 structures destroyed, 5,000 acres burned. Six firefighters injured, one with “moderate burns.” He is being treated at the Sherman Oaks Burn Center. Full list of addresses of destroyed and damaged homes will be posted at 6 p.m.
Here’s a good link for the LA County Fire Department. They update all the latest numbers here first. A list of damaged or destroyed homes has now been released and it can be found on the City of Malibu’s website.

Why is it that there are a number of pictures showing helicopters dipping into swimming pools? Isn’t the ocean close enough and an easier target?
I would like the name changed- Corral- because this is my last name- from marriage-
I looked at the link- I couldn’t help but notice-Cause: Under investigation.

On Fox News- the article for this fire states- fire caused by human activity- However, when I opened it to read, the article was about the damage- was this initially caused by human activity of which the winds took control?
The damage sounds horrendous! I read a comment by a man who built his home in the 1990’s- and lost it- just like that- in the blink of an eye-

I don’t really understand these Santa Ana winds. What happens? Does someone know that the winds are coming and they go out and set a fire or do the winds cause the fire? Seems like there would be nothing left to burn in Malibu after last months fire.

When I first saw the link- it was 35% contained- so in a couple days, as of tonight, it will or is 90%-
A lot of acres were burned!
