Drew Peterson and the blue barrel

By now you have heard the news that a neighbor of Drew Peterson reportedly told investigators that they saw the former Bolingbrook police Sgt. loading a large blue barrel into his SUV the day that his 23 year old wife was reported missing. The neighbor said that Drew had help from another man, but wasn’t sure who he was. If you saw the report I did this weekend, you know that I asked Drew about this, and he told me he had nothing to say about it, and shrugged it off like it didn’t happen.

While I was in Bolingbrook this weekend, the barrel story was in full swing, and there was word that the alleged accomplice had tried to kill himself just after the alleged barrel loading incident. The people I’ve talked to that know the Peterson’s say the man isn’t only a friend of Drew’s but a possible family member. From what I’ve been told, investigators are really spending a lot of time on the cell phone records of both Stacy and Drew Peterson, and are checking and double checking numbers dialed and received by both.

There is a new search for Stacy planned this weekend that will include the help of the family members of another missing mother nearby, Lisa Stebec. http://www.findlisastebic.com/index/

Laura,
It could have been a blue Rubbermaid type container and not a barrel. If there was a body inside, the container would lose it’s rectangular shape. Jamie Colby said she saw a large blue lid in Peterson’s basement. Has there been any word yet on the Grand Jury meeting today? I think DP’s son is supposed to testify, the poor kid.

As in most cases, time will turn up ALL the facts. One person cannot truly think they can outthink a larger group………………even a vet. police officer.

Great blog! Thanks for posting the links!!!
I’ve been wondering about the plane etc, and just found the answers on the forum.

If I remember correctly, there are three hours Drew was gone the night Stacey went missing… 11pm-2am. The Chicago waterfront of Lake Michigan is 30 miles from Bolingbrook. The AQUILLA ultralite gets 43-62 mph, which would get him to the Chicago shore within 45 minutes. Three hours would be enough time to… fly to Lake Michigan… dump a body from air… fly back to Bolingbrook… and move the cars.

Imo search crews should get to lake Michigan south.

Laura,

We’ve all heard the blue barrel story and that of the helper who assisted in loading it in the SUV. Then came the story of the helper suffering a heart attack soon thereafter. And today I even heard a story that Drew did not work the night Stacy vanished – instead he’d called in an excuse to be absent.

But are these stories actually true … ? How many of them have been confirmed .. ?

The issue here is very much circumstantial by nature – but extremely compelling if “TRUE” .. !
