CANDLE LIGHT

This update came as a suggestion from one of you guys. I have gotten some information on the web about the compassionate friends worldwide candle lighting.  It is a memorial, held annually the second Sunday in December, which this year is today. The idea is for family and friends around the globe to light candles for one hour to honor and remember children who have died at any age from any cause. As candles are lit at 7 p.m. local time, hundreds of thousands of persons commemorate and honor children in a way that transcends all ethnic, cultural, religious, and political boundaries. This event is believed to be the largest mass candle lighting on the globe. The Worldwide Candle Lighting started in the United States in 1997 as a small Internet observance but, as it has been embraced by the bereavement community, has swelled in numbers as word has spread throughout the world of the remembrance. A memorial message board is available during the event at TCF’s USA website        http://www.compassionatefriends.org/

Adam-

this was very cool what you did- I am a crybaby- between you and Patty, I had to do a bit of wiping the eyes- I left a message on the website-

Patty- I am so glad you shared your beautiful angel, Kathy with us- I took a peek at everything else- was this you holding a baby? If so- you are beautiful too!

Your pictures are awesome!

I will tell you how bad of a crybaby I am- I have watched ET five times, as it just came on two weeks ago, and I still bawl!

I left a message for you on the website- I read a whole bunch of them- made me sad- there are many people there grieving-

I looked at your angel again and the other pictures and out of curiosity- what is going on in the yellow room?

Adam,
Compassionate Friends is a wonderful organization – we have a chapter here in my town. A good friend is a member since her 20 year old son died in a car wreck; she has found tremendous support from other parents who have lost children. We lit a candle too. Thank you for the reminder.

g’morning from frozen kansas!
We still have power, that is a good thing!

Jen S and Susan, thank you so much. Kathy, is as pretty on the inside as she is on the outside :-)
This time if year is especially difficult for parents that have lost a child, or anyone for that matter. We thought we had done the worst when my only brother took his own life, little did we know that 2 years and 1 month later, that our lifes would be shattered to pieces. The pieces are slowly finding thier way back together. Sometimes its just a matter of getting to the next day, or even the next minute. But we get there, thats what matters. Kathy has taught us so much, we could never have imagined. She reminds us constantly that she isnt really gone, she’s just “in the next room”, that is what heals the wounds.

Susan…I didnt realize that you’d be able to see all the pics! *S* Yes, that is me wiht the baby, our newest grandson that just turned 1. The yellow room? wellllll, im known as the sticky note queen, and someone sent that to rub it in a little. ;-)

Adam…did you have a restful weekend?

Greetings-
I have marked my calendar for next year; I was not familiar with annual event. I had a little one that I taught in Sunday school that went to heaven in 2004. He was only 7, but so wise! He knew where true joy came from.
Patty like you , I ache with the same situation in the loss of a brother. I can only respect the Lord’s decision to allow this to happen and thank him for blessing us with the precious time we had with them.
Hoping the ice storm doesn’t creep my way. Being without power is horrible. We keep the tank on the gas grill filled and have lots of soup on hand. Stay safe & warm.

*****Adam—Need a picture of the week; Patty is stuck inside and has nothing to do.
