High Seas
I stole this picture from the U.S. Coast Guard website and wished I had one of my own when we got to do high surf training.
I have been lucky enough while working in Santa Rosa, then Sacramento and now with Fox News, to go out with the men and women of the Coast Guard as they conduct their amazing work. I went on high surf training off of Bodega Bay California (Unbelievable!).
We were chained-in with helmets and body suits on. We were told that if the boat capsized, it would right itself in 90 seconds, so hold our breath. When we hit each wave head on, it would knock us backwards like we had driven an SUV into a brick wall. I have spent time with other USCG operations, like the port protection team. We even did lives from Coast Guard Island in Alameda last year after boarding freighters that have just come to port, making sure there was no contamination or national security threat. Great stuff…I look forward to working with them in the coming year.
MEANTIME…check out this link. This is the Coast Guard’s top 10 rescues of 2007! LINK

Adam,
I couldn’t imagine. My body is aching just from reading your description. Whew!
But I have this thing about water. I love to go to the beach and I enjoy boating, but I have a serious fear of drowning. Something about feeling helpless and being out of control scares me to death.
Great pic, though and I have no doubt your training was valuable to you.
Awesome picture.
WOW! I can not imagine Adam!!!
That 90 seconds would feel like eternity when natural instinct would be to swim “free”. I have that same fear as Jennifer in Atl…I love the water, and have no fear of it, but not that much it at one time.
Adam…i guessed that
What a rush the high surf training exercise would have been! I’m sure I would have been green before it was over though.
That must have been a great memory going on the boat! That site was a good one! I never hear about the Coast Guard until a major bust happens. What an exciting job that must be, dangerous, but exciting. That picture was fabulous too!
I am back– we had the best time— I have to sort the pictures and pick the ones for the slideshow– and I found Adam at the zoo today– he was not home watching television—– liar–
I have proof!
Welcome Back, Susan. Are you going to post a link so we can see the slideshow? I’d love to see your pics.
Yikes! Reminds me of A Perfect Storm
Adam… just saw your report about the LA Cops submitting their financials. The Feds have to do it and we don’t hear them complaining. If they have nothing to hide then why not submit? I can’t see how it would hurt them in anyway.
This is the whole point I’ve been trying to make all year. Preventative measures to protect all of us. If security, safety and preventative measures were in place, in many cases, we probably could have avoided many of the tragedies we had this year.
The LA Cops should submit. It’s the public that pays their salary I think.
OK– TO ALL YOU BLOGGERS— AND ADAM IF YOU DON’T LOOK AT WHAT I DID– SO HELP ME LORD, I WILL SEE YOU TOMORROW IN PERSON!!!!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL– HERE IS MY PRESENT TO YOU!!!

SUSAN~~~~~~~
I love it! How fantastic. I was totally cracking up…so much so that my son kept wandering over to see what I was laughing at.
I loved the giraffe sticking his tongue out. Good stuff.
Adorable babies and great pics.
Thank you….thank you for sharing your day with us.
It was a fun day— the best day I have all year so far–
were you a little ticked to find out where Adam was all day? you thought he was home? wrong!!!!
and thank you– we took over 150 pictures– we had a great time–
I sure am tired– Frank said I was like a little girl– running all around the place– we had to go back to the tigers and lion because they had just put them in the feeding cages—
I bet you are tired, but a good tired, I’m sure.
The Georgia/Hawaii game is just now coming on and my husband has beckoned me to the living room. I guess I should go join him!

I’ll check in with everyone later.
Go Dawgs!
And a note— most of the pictures Frank took– so he gets the credit– we took some beautiful pictures but I couldn’t show them all as after awhile, you might get tired and lose interest—
what a small world– to have met that nice family from Nigeria—-
Susan… That was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You made me a giraff bah hahahahaha!!! Was that hello for my Christina??? This is great… saw the rhino’s butt too hahahahah
Adam—
that is a cool picture and I was getting nauseous reading your article– seasick!
Susan Phx…you are just too much. What a riot! I highly doubt you are fired! *S*
Hey Adam….at least she saw my “pretty side”!! he he he
What a great way to start the new year…giggling and laughing!!
Thanks for sharing that with us Susan!!!!
(((hugs)))
Adam Housley…getting to the “bottom” of the next story!
Patty– Jennifer—
thanks for your nice comments you posted on the slideshow– but remember–I did not share my day with you– this was for all of you– not for me– except the ostrich and that is because I owed that to Jennifer—- but this was for all of you and in memory of the two who tragically died—
xxxxxxxx
Yes susan…but it was still a hoot… on the other side of serious.
Thanks for the laughs, Susan………..that was fun.
What’s your next project? Adam on The Strip in ‘Vegas? You may have him over a ‘barrell’ there………
John….over the barrel would be better than IN it! ha ha
Susan in Phx - that was a very creative slideshow
Susan, that was great, but you didn’t find an animal that looked like me?
Hi Susan - enjoyed your slideshow. Thanks for thinking of us as you were looking at the animals
.
Adam’s way more handsome than that, though!
Karen— the giraffe was sticking out his tongue— and yes– that was for your Christina— and max you got credit— you, Avi, and John are part of the zebras–
Emily– Adam was in his natural state when I found him– it is the make-up he wears on the televison–
The zoo– I found the tigers and lion’s space too small but as the zoo’s representative explained it to me– since they don’t have to roam very far for food, they don’t need a huge area– (Frank and I didn’t buy into it) The three handlers I talked to all have their Bachelors- in other words, not anyone gets hired–
I complained about one gazelle who was all alone– the gazelle is being moved to another zoo-
The zoo was packed and I met a lot of nice people who wondered what the hell I was doing
And my- I found Adam- poster made a few people laugh— and if no one knew Adam, they do as of today-
That was so nice of you Susan!
Susan –
lol….you are so entertaining!
Adam should hire you for all his PR. By the time you’re done, ALL of AZ will know who he is.
eeerrrrr Adam… Where’d ya go?
Susan*****Oh My Gosh
I am laughing and crying; I need to call Avi for his deodorant (old joke-but I’m sure you remember)

You are something else…. Absolutely one in a million!!!
… and the talk of the zoo today… “Who let that girl out?”
Thank you….It’s so nice that you remembered the victims in this tragedy. You have an over sized heart - that’s a good thing.
All of you just made me cry—darn you— thanks so much—-you were my inspiration— and those two guys in the last picture were so thankful Adam had a blog for me to be able to do this–
so thank you all— and bless you all— and bless Frank for bringing his camera— I just called him to tell him how happy he has made some people—-
Adam– I had to tell the one guy to put his cigarette down because you would be offended
and he did
We are suppose to be blogging about the Coast Guard here…
More Heroes!!
Yep, I’d have to be chained too; and dragged to get on that boat knowing what was coming. You like danger don’t you Adam?
yes– comment on the picture–
first– what does this mean– it would right itself in 90 seconds
and second– did you get whiplash?
third– from where does one take a picture like that? another boat?
Adam,
My daughter was watching Twitches Too…again…tonight.
I watched a bit with her and I was reminded at how pretty a lady Tamera is…(yes, I know which twin is which. I’ve been fans of the girls for many years.)
Even though I haven’t ever seen the two of you together, no doubt you make quite the handsome couple.
Have a good evening!
jpv
Jennifer–
Adam on his party from Xmas has a picture of Tamera— you know she graduated from Pepperdine too? and go on his winery site and there in the pictures is one of them—I think the one picture she is telling Adam to stop being a brat–
let me go find it— be right back—-
Susan: i prefer hippos to zebras. Did they have any hippos there?
Susan,
I did see the picture of Tamera on his slide show….but I haven’t been to his winery site. I’d love to see it.

check out the pictures
Stink!!! my SonicWall is blocking the site.
Hang on…while he unblocks it.
I meant to say photos–
signed,
Adam’s personal assistant
Adam: did you invent the blend for the Adam wine?
Max–
I didn’t see any or any gorillas– that is why I didn’t take a picture of one with Adam’s name as a caption—
the cage for the serval was empty– I wanted to take a picture for Corey—
We want to go back– we covered the whole zoo– we there for over four hours but we would go back and check out the animals again– However, Frank had to get home because his wife was going to be angry– so I bought his kids some cool stuff from the zoo to soften his blow–
What makes Tamera pretty is she is natural– doesn’t need to wear all that face stuff to look nice-
look how petite she is next to her man–
You all have a good night– I am going to watch some television– and check in here one more time before I go to bed to see if Adam has made one comment about me busting him at the zoo today–
((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))
Susan: i agree with you about makeup. I think most women look better without it.
Which blogger wrote about Geragos and the two survivors— check this out— from Greta’s blog
Lawyer Mark Geragos was just hired by the survivors of the tiger mauling last week…more to come …
Adam—
you are a many of many faces— Lon Chaney had a thousand faces—
But I see no opinion about my slideshow– It was fun to do—
oops– you are a man of many faces
(reporter, daredevil, baseball player, and so on)
Susan… It looked like Adam had to work today… unless is slot was prerecorded. I saw him on Trace’s show right at the end.
He was reporting on the LA Cops, a special division that handles drugs and large sums of money. Looks like the police officials want to force the agents to turn over their financials periodically as proof that they’re not taking bribes (just like the FEDS do). Apparently the agents didn’t like that and are threatening to sue and/or move to another department.
Susan……….I heard this morning on the radio that Geragos is claiming the tiger was out of it’s confines for 30 min. before the zoo officials called 911. I think that’s typical defense lawyer spin……….the police reports he’s probably seen probably show the last eyewitness to see the tiger in its compound was at say 4:40pm. The next report shows calls coming in at 5:15pm that there is a tiger on the loose. So he’s assuming the tiger “could” have been out from let’s say 4:45 to 5:15 pm. Typical defense attorney assumptions. But then again, his only job is to represent and defend his clients…not seek the truth.
ADAM,
What do I win?
I heard on the news in Los Angeles this morning that the men who attacked the Tiger have hired Mark Geragos………….
I accurately predicted that right after the Tiger was murdered.
Only the guilty hire that man.
Oh and too many Jennifers on this blog, I am going to give myself a new name!
Regarding the pictures..
The fence around these tigers is ridiculous….
Anyone could stick their fingers in there! Looks bad.
Adam–
now that the zoo hype is out of me– cool link– Washington stands first in rescues and I think it is awesome the coast guard provided humanitarian relief to the Dominican Republic–

Yikes!! WA state had 3 of the top ten rescues of 2007 … Me thinks that is a big sign that the governor is NOT doing her job (that she had her lawyers steal the election for) …
Gosh, I miss California … At least in LA, we knew who the bad guys were …
