Why is anyone feeling sorry for Patricia Said, she lived with this monster for over 20 years. He had a history of violence, molestation. If she was so afraid of him why is she staying with his brother. She has siblings and a dad, aunts, uncles, etc. He told her he was going to kill the girls and she brought them home and she let him put them in the taxi, she knew what he was going to do, he had always gone through with his threats. He beat Amina regularly, check with her school mates at trinity-bell high school, check with her family. the real truth he was not a good provider, he made her work and support the family, he spent his money going back and forth to Egypt. If she had been a decent mother she would have left him when the girls told their grandmother he was molesting them, and Patricia signed a statement that she was aware it was going on, but guess what she ran with him and the girls and wouldn't let the grandmother see them.

I feel to better serve your viewers and the public that you need to bring out in the forefront the Muslim faith.. The critical piece here is that in the Muslim faith, this is acceptable behavior. The American Public needs to know how the Muslim Faith thinks on this matter. This would educate the public on the dangersous capacity of this religion living in our country and possibly save lives in the future. Thank You!

To one with a highly experienced eye, it is obvious the murders of the beautiful Said sisters of suburban Dallas were dishonor killings.

A long, long time ago when I held a gun in my hand in the name of God and Country, there was a moment when I realised that if I could not give life, who was I to take it? I put the gun down. I wish each person was asked to contemplate this before ever a gun was lifted.
Not all would put the gun down, I accept.

My prayers with all.

Well what do you expect? Liberals insist we treat other cultures with dignity and respect and this is what you get. These people are animals, barbarians living as though this were the 1100's, not 2008. If you are a liberal get a grip and understand what you are dealing with. Afterall according to your beliefs we should not even charge the father because we have to respect his culture and religious beliefs even though they are different than our own. So have at it.

Wow, Laura, this Islamic fundemenatlism is killing so many people in so many different ways. It is an 'honor killing, ' one of many that go on each year, that has been reported...how many wonderful girls are murdered each year in the name of Islam?

It sickens me to see women in full Islamic garb. I know that they are abused menatally each time I see a woman with a scarf over their head or a covering of their faces.

Re: Honor Killing
            Laura,
I recently carpooled with another co-worker from Pakistan. He is a Muslim and I am a Christian. I found myself really liking this guy, he was funny, laughable and a very personanable guy. He confided in me the problems he was having with his son. Most of what he said were problems were the same ones I had had with my son, you know, not minding, being irresponsible, geting into trouble, stuff like that, nothing serious, except to him. He told me that his son was drinking, smoking and seeing women intimately. I knew that drinking was a huge taboo for muslims.
I only saw where these were typical American male rebellious acts, he saw them as sacrilidge and mentioned that if he did these in Pakistan, he would be beaten. I met his daughter, beatiful young women, smart and level headed. She was doing all the things her dad wanted but, I felt that he wasn't giving her much attention or credit.
The UK is seeing a lot of "Honor Killings" and I won't be suprised to see more here in the U.S.. I think this is more of a cultural issue than a religious one.

Thankyou,
Kevin Anderson

Hi Laura,
Our USA is going to have this sort of thing from now on and out. Why? Because, our government has NOT screened foreign people from coming over here. When a house-hold gets to full, what happens, you close the doors and don't admit anyone else! So.....why has our government NOT shut it's doors? Our statue of liberty lady has welcomed enough people over to our country, and that was way back then when our HOUSE was completly empty, now it's full. Back then people that came over here, 'conformed' to the life over here. Not so, now! These people bring their pagan beliefs over here, and still live them here, no matter what our laws state. They view killings as nothing. You can kill your own family members over where they came from, it's even sanctioned, (especially against women and children) that's why the Dad's family members are hiding and declining comment, because they are happy those beautiful little girls are DEAD. In fact, I believe they are the ones who brought more heat on the pagan dad to take the girls out. I blame our USA for all of this turmoil, and chaos. CLOSE OUR DOORS, CLOSE OUR BORDERS! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! When you're invited or welcomed in to someone's HOME, you show your appreciation by submitting to their rules, their life style. Not so with these foreigners, they don't have respect, nor love for our country, only the one they came from, even though they were abused in their mother land, they still aren't going to be loyal to ours. Once the camel is in the tent we won't be abel to get it out. Once the foreigners are here, we will never get them out. Our USA is nothing but a weak country now, everything goes, everyone is accepted, do your own thing, be politically correct in all things, even at the cost of our way of life, or for the good of our people. If any of us want to leave, where do we go? They're countries won't welcome us with open arms! That's why all of them are over here. SHAME, SHAME SHAME. NO SENSE AT ALL. I pray this pagan man is found and crucified. If he isn't then all the people who come over here, will follow suit. Those poor little beautiful girls. My heart goes out to their mom and familiy. Thanks Laura! Respectfully, Leerae

P.S. Are we ever going to hear anymore about that murdering Drew Peterson, or Stebic? Or is it forgotten now with new news in its place? I sure hope not. Both those evil men need to be brought to justice!

Unfortunately, there will be more such "honor killings" in the US and not all, as proved in Detroit perhaps a month ago, will be limited to Muslims. I am sorry this is a shock to you, as it was to me some years ago when I first came across the prevalency of such horrors, but it is a sacred "duty" outlined in the Q'uran [Koran] which falls onto the males of a family. Females have no rights, priviledges or choice - they are among Allah's low creatures, only existing for the benefit of males. Please acquaint yourself with Islam's teachings - there are many free daily emails from experts such as Steve Emerson, Daniel Pipes, Robert Spencer, etc. etc - perhaps you might wish to explore http://jihadwatch.org for information - that is one of the best, but the more we understand Islamic mores the better we might be able to withstand this very long drawn out conflict during which they vow to overtake the US.

Please acquaint yourself with Islam’s teachings – there are many free daily emails from experts such as Steve Emerson, Daniel Pipes, Robert Spencer, etc. etc – perhaps you might wish to explore http://jihadwatch.org for information – that is one of the best, but the more we understand Islamic mores the better we might be able to withstand this very long drawn out conflict during which they vow to overtake the US.

Ah, another fine example of why the religion of peace and tolerance is neither.

This man needs to be hunted down and hopefully not taken alive.

I would say he needs to be prosecuted and punished to the fullest extent of the law but that is pretty much impossible these days in our society. If he is caught alive, the American taxpayers will pay for a lengthy trial, some liberal California lawyer will explain how we should understand his actions because of his cultural differences and then will write a book about it. Perhaps Yaser Abdel himself would write a book from prison, or perhaps file a lawsuit against the courts for punishing him for something that is accepted in his society.

As I said, he needs to be hunted down and hopefully not taken alive. Preferably shot and left to contemplate his own death, just as he did to his daughters.

This is just more proof of the insanity that is islam. I have seen it myself in Iraq, against a 2 year old girl whose father burned her with boiling water. Why? Because he claimed she was is property and he had the rights to do as he pleased with her. When will we wake up and see islam for what it is? It is a farce to beleave that it is a religeon of peace, and the only way I would be conviced otherwise is when I see one million muslims speak out against these "honor killings" or march in support of out military, or anything even remotely like that. But they won't, and silence is consent. American muslins silently support these actions, because they agree with them. If they didn't, there would be such an outcry. But I hear nothing. So I am wary of them, and I distrust them, and I urge others to do the same.

This story, initially upsetting, continues to plunge downward. Just when you think it cannot possibly get worse, it does.

I think you deserve a lot of credit, Laura, for your dogged pursuit of this tragic tale. We can only hope that Yaser Abdel Said is brought to justice - and soon. He is wanted on a Texas warrant for capital murder, the most serious crime there is. But no matter what punishment is eventually meted out, it will never restore life to two outstanding and gorgeous girls, both headed for lives of accomplishment, both cut down by a man who presumably could not stomach the fact that his immediate family had simply stood up and said "enough is enough."

God bless the memory of Amina and Sarah Said and may their Mother, Patricia, find comfort in the loving thoughts of the throngs of students who filled the funeral chapel this past weekend.
