I stood outside in support of the Marine Recruiters office in Berkely on Feb 13th for hours in support of our citizens right to free choice to enter the office to conduct private business. All the Code Pink banners and TeeShirts said “End the War.” Wrong venue. Their shirts should have said “End the Right to Choose-Bring Back the Draft So we don’t Need the Office Here.” I would prefer to have an office that offers employment, educational benefits, health plan, and a career, than let the youth wander the streets on drugs and alcohol. If they want to live in a place where choice is not an option try a country where you don’t get these rights. The veterans that came that day stood tall, proud. The Police watching the event were very courteous, in spite of a few uninitiated outbursts from the pink.

By the way, Obama doesn’t have the guts either to fight for his country. He is a super liberal with all mouth!! I wouldn’t want him to lead me into battle, he would be yelling to his troops, CHANGE, CHANGE, Change your direction and Retreat!!

Our colleges today are institutions of liberalism and anti-government. Liberal students are so anti-war and don’t have the guts to serve their country let alone becoming a United States Marine. I am a U.S.Army vet, but I support all of our armed force branches. If we had a draft today these are the same liberal students that would be burning their draft cards. They should all be ashamed to call themselves Americans and are a disgrace to all the brave men and women that are willing to sacrifice their lives for these non-supportive losers!!

The most disturbing thing about the protests against the recruiting office was the position taken by the Berkeley City Counsel.

I support freedom of speech - and even understand how burning of the flag is a form of speech - although I would never burn our flag and hate seeing it done.

But the position taken by this city - against the federal agency which affords them freedom - is, in my opinion, not freedom of speech but an act of treason.

As city government, your job is to manage your city. If a few people did not like Betsy’s Dress Shop, would the city have voted to call it an unwelcome intruder? Would the city have allowed individuals to block the entrance? Would they city have allowed people to chain themselves to the door? Would the city have allowed people to ‘paint’ things (bloody hand prints) on the store fronts windows?

I suspect NOT. And the individuals participating in these types of activities would have been arrested.

So, how is it this city could not see the difference? Are they so blinded by their hatred for the current administration that they no longer can see right from wrong? One has to wonder what other types of bias’ rule this city.

The residents of Berkeley need to step back - do a little soul searching - and take a long hard objective look at themselves. And admit - they don’t support our troops, the war to protect our freedom, or anything but their own selfish wants! I agree - Let Berkeley Support Themselves. See how many will be willing to reach deep into their own pockets - not the government coffers - to pay for and protect themselves from the ‘evil USA’.

As for Code Pink - all I can say is I hope you never need to be protected from loosing your freedoms - as our proud and brave are willing to sacrifice all for you in another land. Heaven help you Code Pink, if this fight is brought to the streets of the USA. Where will you be protesting then?

Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano said that while the Scripps findings differ from the Central Arizona Project’s, she agrees with the fundamental point made by Scripps, “which is to say that as our population grows, sustainability is going to require action with respect to water.”

“We’re still the second-fastest growing state in the country and we still have to be planning on that in terms of sustainability, which is a good concept,” Napolitano said. “Water needs to be a part of that, obviously.”

To teach them a lesson I believe they should do without what the military provides them with. Freedom, the federal government should withdraw completely from that city, no money, no aid, no FBI, no DEA, no national guard. allow them to sustain themselves for 3 years (the standard enlistment for a new marine) let them form their own militia’s to protect themselves from roving, burned-out college kids that are starving because their federal grants no longer support their free living days. Let the university try to maintain law and order when these “peace loving kids” are taking what they can to survive, let them solve their own murders when a hippy goes wild in a drug induced frenzy. let the streets fall into disrepair, let the plumbing blow up, let the power be severed, let the water be shut off.

Give them a taste of what they really want, absolute independence, they can generate their own power, purify their own water, protect their own property, enforce their own laws. Make a toll gate that charges them to leave the city to work.

We can go back in after three years and accept their apologies, restore their city from what I am guessing will look like somalia, and ask them what they learned.

I am all for freedom, all freedom, but this has crossed the line into treason.

When Christina was in kindergarten her teacher called me at work and told me that as a courtesy she wanted to let me know that Christina was exceptionally active on that particular day, she then told me (not asked) that when she hangs up the phone she will hang a sign on Christina and have her sit in front of an assembly and would remain there for the rest of the day (it was Christina’s 3rd in school, begining of the year). I thanked her for her courtesy call, said a few things that even I was shocked that came out of my mouth then explained I would have an lawyer on her and CCSD so fast her head would spin. If they ever locked my child in a closet I don’t know how I would have reacted.

Cindy Sheehan is playing a very dangerous game. I hope, for her own safety, that she doesn’t tick off the wrong person in another country. I was convinced last year that she was crazy, beyond mentally unstable, when she tried to run for Pelosi’s seat in San Francisco. (I think it was Pelosi’s seat). She needs to be careful now, because if the Dems don’t want her anymore she might seek out attention in foreign places where she shouldn’t be sticking her nose in.
