The Taxman is Fat.

OK…I have to admit, I am one who is sick of paying high taxes and not getting what we deserve in return. Maybe it’s because I am from the ‘Golden State’ where we get taxed on taxes. My point is this, if you live in a state where there’s state income tax…AND…you work for a living to make a decent salary, add up your taxes. Seriously, add your income tax (state & feds), misc. tax on goods and services, phone tax, gas tax, utilities tax, etc. You’ll see, it’s not the 35% you hear about, but much more. NOW…if we were getting great services, that would be a whole different argument. However, here in California, our roads are struggling along with our schools and so many other areas. We can blame the economy, but it was like this a few years ago! Point is….we give the money, but it is not spent well. Republican, Democrat, or other, most would agree. So…here is your chance to debate. Here’s where the candidates want things to stand.

INCOME TAX  current 35%

Obama      39.6%  McCain 35%    Clinton   39.6%

CAPITAL GAINS   current 15%

Obama    28%     McCain   15%   Clinton   20%

DIVIDENDS      current  15%

Obama   39.6%     McCain  15%    Clinton  39.6%

Again, welcome back ;)

Comment by VH1

Actually Karen the reason I am giving up blogging is that my son said that it is really bothing him that I spend so much time on the computer instead of with him like we use to do, so I told him I would give up the blogging and go back to spending all my time with him, I got side tracked from what is really important for a couple of weeks, sometimes it is easy to do but now I am going to get back on track.

Blogging is to addictive, it is hard to do just a little bit of it.
It is better to make a choice of either being in or out.

Do me a favor and don’t over analyze this post and make it something more than what it is. ;)

Comment by KT

oh, nice to see you back.

Comment by VH1

KT don’t over analyze everything.
I don’t know where you are getting poor me from, don’t read anything into it.
My leaving has NOTHING to do with the bloggers.

Comment by KT

44… get over the poor me act. You’ve changed your name so much that people do not know who they are blogging with. If somebody made the mistake of assuming a blogger was you, then it was because you have set the scene for doubt.

You have challenged evey comment made by us especially when it came to the war and healthcare. But you don’t want to be challenged back. I listen to liberal view points and I do compare them to the facts. If the views are correct then I assume that way of thinking. I hope you would reconsider.

Comment by VH1

One last thing most people you guys think are me are not me, believe it or not their are other Americans who have the same views as me, that I think will prove to be true come November. ;)

KT & K2 sorry if I offended you two, I was really impressed with the advice you gave to cindy, I thought for sure you would be biased but you were not. ;) try to keep and open mind, many good things have come from Democrats as well as Republicans.

Comment by VH1

You guys win, I give up it is not worth the effort.
Besides I am pretty sure the election and the war is going to go the way I want it to go.
you will be glad to know you won’t be seeing me again, I am bored with blogging, (short attention span) I have a life to live.

Adam
Good job on reporting, I will be looking for you on Fox news.

Finally – ideas about how to reform our current (1) health insurance costs, (2) Medicaid system, and (3) Medicare.

Info about the author of the article:

David Gratzer
David Gratzer is a physician, an author and a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute. He is often quoted on health matters in the U.S. and Canada where his articles have appeared in more than a dozen newspapers and magazines, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and The Weekly Standard. For his essays, Dr. Gratzer won the 2000 Felix A. Morley Journalism Competition, sponsored by George Mason University’s Institute for the Humane Studies. The late Milton Friedman, Nobel Laureate in Economics, wrote that Dr. Gratzer is “a natural-born economist.” David Gratzer’s most recent book, with Foreword by Milton Friedman, is The Cure: How Capitalism Can Save American Health Care (Encounter Books, October 2006)

Susan & Gang…
I posted the Hatfield link because that is all I could find that said he was the ONLY ONE who voted against it; and it was supposedly his words. So?? I don’t know. Also his reason for voting that way. Everything else says Hatfield and Grassley like you said.

Adam–did you mean the Iraq war?? That’s Lincoln Chafee, and he left the GOP and is now an Independent. He says Bush duped them into a war. If not,
I found a 1-800 number to call for voting history…..so if this trivia question is to Win a Mug or
a T-shirt, I might consider doing that….

Another video which explains the truth about the alleged 45 Million Uninsured in America —-

http://www.freemarketcure.com/uninsuredinamerica.php

If this does not make you rethink about Universal Health Care, then I don’t know what willl.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

If you still believe the US needs to move toward Universal Health Care, please take the time to watch this video — it is from Canada………..

http://www.freemarketcure.com/brainsurgery.php

We cannot afford it financially. We cannot afford it physically!

Comment by KT

Good article

I wish they would open up the healthcare market allowing us to choose between different companies, which would bring on price competition, instead of having the industry monopolized per State. We could then have a better shot of having affordable healthcare.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

Just another article that outlines, better than I can, why I do NOT support Universal Health Care and the Democratic attacks on ‘big business’————

When politicians today say that they are going to “bring down the cost of medical care” or make housing “affordable,” what are they talking about other than price controls?

Do we want a shortage of medical care? Do you want to have to wait for months for surgery — and suffer needlessly in the meantime, as people do in Canada and Britain?

Behind these wonderful-sounding political “solutions” to our problems is the notion that businesses are just ripping us off with arbitrarily set prices, and that the government can make them stop.

It makes a nice story and it can get votes for politicians who play the role of saviors. But it makes little economic sense. Why do so many businesses have losses, and even go bankrupt, if they can set their prices wherever they want to?

It is not uncommon for companies on the Fortune 500 list to operate in the red. Back during the days of the Great Depression of the 1930s, corporations as a whole operated in the red two years in a row.

They were trying to keep from going under while Franklin D. Roosevelt was denouncing them as “economic royalists.”

Pelosi is throwing spagetti on the wall to see what sticks, first its going after Bush aides which Muckasey tossed out then go after Bush. Couldn’t they just override the veto? If they could have then I guess this is a far better way to get attention at a time of elections. Sounds more important to the voters if they sued the President than it is to say Congress overrode a veto.

In the ’70s the Democrats tried this with Nixon. But the court said that Congress can’t use the court system as way of getting a law passed.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

Susan,

this appears to be the reason behind the lawsuit———

“The suit had a political purpose too. Democrats have urged that the filing occur swiftly so that a judge might rule before the November elections, when all 435 House seats and a third of the Senate are up for grabs. Criticism of Bush’s use of executive power is a key tenet of the Democrats’ platform, from the presidential race on down.”

I am out for a while too….see you later..

I’ll be back in a bit.

And I agree about the earmarks. I’lll respond later.

Comment by KT

Well put K2. The only problem getting that point across is that a a voter can look at all of this and say it doesn’t affect them or their tax dollars. My argument is that there is a global agenda of the Islamic extremists who will continue to attack us and cost us money. If we do nothing then they will have the opportunity to flourish and become stronger.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

KT – true. It is up to us to know what our politicians are doing.

I do recall Pelosi saying she would improve congress….however, we did not see the elimination of earmarks – we did see there is to be more transparency as to who attaches them to a bill. A good step, but what about who is behind the earmark and their relationship to the endorser.

Or better yet, NO earmarks.

Also, we have seen stall tactics…..not voting on the presidential appointments to the federal courts. Refusing an up or down vote – just stalling and not voting at all.

Obstruction of bringing the FISA bill to vote.

Honestly, our two party system is like a rush hour traffic jam…… slow moving and no progress.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

KT – Neville Chamberlain did talk to Hitler and signed the Munich Agreement in 1938. “The agreement, signed by Germany, France, Britain, and Italy permitted German annexation of Czechoslovakia’s Sudetenland. The Sudetenland was of immense strategic importance to Czechoslovakia, as most of its border defences were situated there.”

We all know now, it did not work……

“The agreement is regarded by historians as exemplifying appeasement. As Hitler soon violated the terms of the agreement, it has often been cited in support of the principle that totalitarian states should never be appeased.

May we not let history be repeated, once again.

The Republicans just introduced 5 new bills into Congress between 2007-2008 for immigration reform. Each of those bills will help the economy and ease the burden of the taxpayers. We are looking out for American Citizens and their tax dollars. We are looking out for American Citizens who have to pay to jail illegal immigrants. We are looking out for individual States, like California, Texas, Arizona, who residents pay dearly for the cost of illegal aliens draing the economies and healthsystem. Their taxes should go to improve roads, new schools for American Citizen children and other necessities that you feel are being ignored.

If this is the business as usual of the Republicans, then I’m all for their business as usual, I like lower taxes and having the taxes we do pay going to areas that are supposed to. I want our taxes going to help those who need it. Corruption exists at all levels and it’s up to you the voter to vote out the Congress members that you feel are being corrupt. The President of the United States is not the watchdog of corrupt members of congress, that’s not his job.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

Welfare programs were not part of American culture until the Depression. People who were helped by private agencies, charities, churches were unable to keep up with the needs of the single parents, and displaced workers, as less people were employed. Social Security was developed to provide the older displaced workers with an income. The age to receive benefits was 65 – three years later than the average life span.

Welfare was to be a temporary plan, until the economy improved and the 24% unemployment rate improved. It was not intended to be a never ending program.

However, we now know welfare will continue to help those who need it. Unfortunately, when benefits were added in the 1960’s it became a program that created dependency. Under Bill Clinton, welfare was reformed to remove people from this dependency and move them toward employment. This was very successful and unemployment under President Bush was lower than under Bill Clinton.

Never have I heard a Republican say they wished to disband Social Security, Medicare, Welfare.

I have heard conversation to take action to SAVE Social Security and allow for private investment of social security. At the present time, the Federal Government does not protect the SS money being used / spent outside it’s purpose.

I have heard conversation that Medicare needs to be reformed. The current system is subject to fraud, waste and abuse.

Welfare has been reformed and, as with any social program should be subject to continued review to see if any improvements can be made.

K2, last I heard, Obama wants to sit down and have a hot cup of tea with Raul Castro, Hogo Chavez, Putin, Kim Jong Il(SP?) and Ahmadinejaed(SP?) to discuss how we can all become friends. Meanwhile sending a message to the rest of the world that we have betrayed our allies and everything that they have stood up for with us over the years. I wonder if we could have avoided the Holocaust if we asked Hitler nicely not to do it.

This economy can’t handle another attack. Bush has done an excellent job in keeping us from being hit again and he was right about the Iraq taking time to settle things down over there. His plan worked.

When McCain goes up against Obama (or Hillary) in the debates, taxes, the war, immigration all other hot topic issues will be compared. Right now all people are hearing about is the change that Obama wants to bring. That change will be defined when he goes against McCain. How are we going to pay for this change that Obama wants? We will pay through our taxes.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

What could happen to Iraq if the US and allies pull-out prior to achieving stability—–

Who will replace the US and allies if Iraq military, police and government are not yet able to fully protect themselves?

Turkey has already invaded (and retreated from) northern Iraq as it fears the Turk Kurds and Iraq Kurds attempting to establish their own country. However, the Kurds in northern Iraq have already resolved their differences and has been the most stable part of Iraq. Without the presence and pressure from the US, would Turkey have retreated so quickly?

Iran, the neighbor next door – who currently supports Al Sadr and his militia. Al Sadr acts in much the same was as Saddam – by killing his rival clerics. Al Sadr – a Shiite. Iran has already announced they are willing and able to fill the void left by the USA. What would this mean to Iraq? A possible genocide of the Sunni Muslims and push to implement Sharia law.

Also, let’s consider the current ‘friends’ of Iran – Russia, China, Venezuela, Syria, North Korea. Are these countries ‘friends’ of the USA? Or, would they like to see the demise of the USA?

If Iran were to invade Iraq, would other nations in the area join in the fray? Would the end result be a much larger and deadly war? Would the instability in the region lead Hamas and Hezbollah to become more aggressive toward Israel?

A stable Iraq leads to a more stable Middle East. A stable Middle East, leads toward a more stable world. Not a perfect world without conflict, but a more stable world. This is why it is very important to remain in Iraq and help the Iraqi’s to become a strong and stable nation.

But you were the one who said that Democrats care about people. So you only care about people in the US correct?

Comment by KT

Dyan, are you insinuating that Democratic leaders are not corrupt?

Also, campaign ethics reform? Did you forget about McCain-Feingold?

Are talking about the same ethics in regard to Nancy Pelosi attempting to derail the SAVE Act allowing amnesty to 20 million illegal aliens, giving them voting rights in effort to get Democratic votes? Also allowing additional welfare allotment to the illegal aliens which will come out of tax dollars… all for the purpose of getting more votes for Democrats?

I have never once heard any Republican say that they wouldn’t want a deserving person to be on a social program. I have heard of them wanting program reforms. Which reminds me, one of the ways that Hillary plans on paying for her healthcare plan is to cut out a part of Medicare which she feels is not working, but she refuses to look at abuse of the system.

Comment by Dyan

What about US citizens, if Republicans had their way these programs would go away, Social Security, Medicare, Welfare, Displaced worker retraining etc.
There is more than enough to be done here at home before looking abroad.

Comment by Dyan

We will end the Republican culture of corruption and restore a government as good as the people it serves, starting with real ethics reform.

The Democratic Party is committed to real ethics reform and meaningful campaign finance reform that protects our rights and ensures that elected officials act ethically — not just within the law, but within the spirit of the law. Democrats offer an aggressive reform package to reverse Republican excesses and restore the public trust.

We are committed to immediate change to lead our country in a new direction, to put an end to Republican business as usual, and to make certain our nation’s leaders serve the people’s interests, not special interests. For us, this commitment spans our lifetime, as we were elected to represent the people, not the powerful.

Our goal is to restore accountability, honesty and openness at all levels of government. To do so, we will create and enforce rules that demand the highest ethics from every public servant, sever unethical ties between lawmakers and lobbyists, and establish clear standards that prevent the trading of official business for gifts.

Comment by KT

K2, that was a fantastic article. Puts the Iraq war into context.

I guess we cared about the people of Iraq enough to save them from Saddam and his cronies, so they no longer were subjected to rape, murder and torture. Men who had their ears cut off, women who were beaten so severly that you couldn’t recognize their face. Thousands of Kurds killed and plopped into mass graves.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

Rod – a bit of into on Americans support to go to war prior to 12/7/41———-

A Gallup Poll published in October, 1941, showed only 17 percent of Americans favoring war with Germany.

http://modern-us-history.suite101.com/article.cfm/could_hitler_have_won

“Hitler knew that President Franklin Roosevelt was doing everything short of war to help Germany’s remaining foes, Britain and the Soviet Union. Arms and supplies from America’s revived war industries and weapons stockpiles were flowing across the Atlantic.” ———-This was happening before we entered WW II.

Comment by KT

Republicans care about people Dyan. We invest in their futures so they can get an education and job training on our tax dollars. The difference is that Republicans expect people to take advantage of those programs and not drain the system. Republicans care about immigrants, but we expect them to go through the process as the law indicates. Republicans care about our troops dying in Iraq, but we also care about other people who the terrorist can hurt. Republicans care about the average American citizen handing over their hard earned paychecks to pay for programs. We care about the sick and indigent who are not able to work, we don;t care about the ones who abuse the system. Republicans care about the people of Venezuela who are suppressed under the dictoator Hugo Chavez. Republicans care about people. That’s why we fight for their freedoms.

Oh, you mean the war that is already ending. You mean the war where we needed to get through the 13 steps and have finally neared that.

Or are you referring to Obama when he said he would pull troops out of Iraq within 6 months, You know, Obama, the guy who jumped from job to job and now knows better than the Generals regarding pulling troops out. There’s a video I posted of Obama, himself saying that he is inexperienced to be President. That was 4 years ago. What has he done in these past 4 years to gain the experience needed?

Or are you referring to when Obama said he would add troops to Afganistan, no, maybe you mean Pakistan. Yeah, that would be a good idea… lets ivade an ally country!

Obama never said he would end the war… he said he would pull troops out of Iraq then if al-Qaeada is there (which they already are there Mr. Obama) then we can go back into Iraq. How do we go back into Iraq? Perhaps another shock and awe? He never said he would end the war… he did say he would add troops to Afghanistan and Pakistan to catch OBL. People tend to think that if we catch OBL then all our problems are over.

That’s very short sighted thinking to hang onto the one line that Obama said, he would pull troops out within 6 months… while disregarding many (Numerous) statements indicating he would add troops.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

Is Dyan the same as 44?

Where would we be if we’d walked out of France and went home after Normandy?

Comment by Dyan

Very nice spin, you fogot ending the war.

Comment by KT

What is the change Dyan?

Which part of change appeals the most… higher taxes, more social programs, universal healthcare costing in excess of $40 billion that will need to constantly be replenished, suppression of free enterprise, the reliance of more government in your life, the end result of a deficit in far worse condition than it is now, the consistant reliance on foreign oil costing us higher prices at the food store, amnesty for 20 million illegal aliens who will continue to drain our economy, open borders allowing the transport of illegal drugs that reaches our children, or how about open borders allowing terrorists to freely walk on in.

We can always put up a sign at the border, Attention terrorist, please watch your step for pot holes when crossing.

Keep in mind that Jack Nicholson doesn’t have to worry about paying high taxes, he can afford it.

Comment by Dyan

I guess millions of Americans see things a little differently now, they want change.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

Jen S. – thanks for the link on Hatfield.

Furhter down, Hatfield is quoted, in 2004, in support of the Iraq war, “During my 30 years in the Senate, I never once voted in favor of a military appropriations bill.

I know that this record will cause many to wonder why I am such a strong supporter of President Bush and his policy in Iraq. My support is based on the fact that our world changed on Sept. 11, 2001, a day on which we lost more American lives than we did in the attack on Pearl Harbor.

I know from my service in the Senate that Saddam Hussein was an active supporter of terrorism. He used weapons of mass destruction on innocent people and left no doubt that he would do so again. It was crucial to the cause of world peace that he be removed from power. … “

Comment by Dyan

Jack is the man, he is entitled to his opinion.

Comment by KT

Jack Nicholson made a commercial to endorse Hillary. What he doesn’t tell you in the commercial is that he can afford to pay high taxes and that he doesn’t need social programs to be on, it won’t affect him one bit. He’s probably paying an enourmous amount of taxes in California, but he won’t miss it. Very deceiving.

Comment by Jen S

Regarding Hatfield:
“I was the only senator who voted against both the Democrat and Republican resolutions authorizing the use of force in the 1991 Gulf War.”

Reason:
“As a young Navy officer in World War II, I was one of the first Americans to see Hiroshima after the atomic bomb was dropped in 1945. That experience lives with me today, and it helped to shape the view I held during my public service career: a view that war is wrong in nearly every circumstance.”

Adam, i agree with you on newspaper endorsements….. Only recommended them as a place to look at local candidates – at least my paper outlines all the candidates…maybe it is a little better than some.

As you said, be sure to evaluate what they say and why.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

I think there are more and more people who are registered with one party, but do not necessarily agree 100% with the party platform (this is the core principles the candidate will run on in the general election) .

So, I believe a person’s party affiliation becomes based upon the issues which are most important to them.

For example, my main issues are:

taxes and how government spends money (neither party has done well in this area lately)

immigration reform – securing our borders (again, neither party has addressed this issue well)

national security

I tend to be more conservative, due to these issues….

NO! You do NOT sound stupid at all. You’re intelligent just for the fact that you’re asking questions and becoming involed in where your taxes are going to.

We all commend you for becoming involved regardless of which party you choose. I wish more were like you.

Also, you would not believe how many people do not take the time to learn about the process and they go out and vote not knowing what they’re voting on. Many, Many of them are much older than you are.

You were given this privillage to vote and you’re using that privillage. Good for you Cindy!

We’ll all help you with anything we can.

Adam is really good about getting the hot topics out there. Take a look at some of the threads he posted. It can help you to make a decision on which party you choose to support.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

Cindy – NO. You don’t not sound stupid.

There is the saying, the only stupid question is the one not asked.

You are very smart to ask questions and seek answers.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

Cindy – Not sure about the label….. Democrat – Republican – Independent – Libertarian – Green

you may find the majority of your issues are more to your way of thinking with one party over another.

How you register will depend upon the requirements in your state. You may or may not have to select a party.

In some states, an registered independent can vote in either parties primary. In some states, a registered independent cannot vote in the primary.

But, how you register has nothing to do with how you vote in the general election. You can vote for any party you wish….

Comment by KT

What you need to be careful of as far as Indepents go is…

K2 – please juump in anytime here!!!

When you go to vote in Primary elections, you can’t vote if want to vote for the Replicans. I think the Democrats allow you to vote for a Democrat if you are an independant. K2 can answer this question better than I can

However, in any main election, like when voting for a President, you can vote for either party.

Sometimes being registered as an independent can limit you. But then again, if you are registered as Republican you can’t vote Democratic in the Primaries

Comment by KT

You can be fiscal Republican and have liberal social views. Fort example, you may prefer to have low taxes and less government in yuor life (Conservative Fiscal) but your views on abortion may be liberal (perhaps you would prefer a woman’s right to choice)

Comment by KT

That depends Cindy

You can be a Conservative with some liberal views. And vice versa.

These are the 3 main componets

Defense / Social / Economic or Fiscal

I’m not encouraging you to be either party, you need to research do what you think is right. The examples that I give you will be from a Conservative point of view, but you can easily take what I say and apply it to the liberal point of view.

Comment by Cindy

I know I sound stupid.

Question if I end up having some views from both sides is that an Independent ?

Cindy – you are welcome. Nothing better than an educated voter…..

For your local elections, a good source of information will be your local paper. Most will outline the candidates, as the election gets closer. Most will also endorse a candidate – but look for their arguments as to why…… doesn’t mean their assessment is any better than your own.

Don’t overlook the editorial page and letters to the editor. Good sources of opinions / information.

Comment by Cindy

Karen 2 thank you very much, that is what I want to be able to research the parties to find out what they are about.

Hi Cindy -

exciting to vote for the first time. The League of Women Voters is a good site for information. When I lived in CA, they always published a voters guide…..it contained the issue and both sides of the argument. It was very helpful. Here’s a link to their site – state league locator —-

http://www.lwv.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Find_a_Local_League

Plus, the Candidates own web sites will give an outline of their positions.

If you read something and it just doesn’t make sense or sound right, bring it here to this blog. A lot of us like to research here. Or, give our opinion!

KT – just a quick note to let you know i received a personal response from my State Representative about the illegal alien issue here in MN.

Just so people know, writing your representative does work…. She may not totally agree with me, but a dialoge has begun :)

Cindy

that’s hard to find… but I agree w/K2… your comments are welcomed. In this thread we got off topic, but basically it comes down to taxes which is affected by everyone regardless of party affliation.

Please post your comments here and you’re welcome to challenge any of ours.

Cindy – Both sides of an issue can be discussed here. Is there a particular topic of interest to you?

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

Anna – I am in MN, too.

This site has a link to send info to your county commissioners to let them know you do not agree with the sales tax increase.

http://www.minnesotamajority.org/

What I did not know, is that each county in the metro area has to approved the sales tax increase. So, if we get enough people to tell the county commissioners NO, we may be able to by pass this increase…… And, don’t forget, our November ballot will have another sales tax increase proposal for the arts!

Comment by Cindy

Does anybody know of a blog that covers BOTH sides ?

Comment by Anna

I totally agree. Here in Minnesota the legislature just overturned the transportation veto which means Minnesotans will pay higher gasoline taxes (as if the price of gas isn’t already high enough) and some Minnesotans will pay more in sales taxes and in license tab fees. It seems the first idea is to charge citizens more so they can spend more. I can tell you one thing, when I vote I’ll look to see who supported this bill (democrats, naturally) and they will never get my vote.

This is an example of Obama saying that he is inexperienced.

This is what Michelle Obama said in Zaneville, Oh

Typical left wing socialism. Do not go out and work for the corporate world where you can make some money and survive in a recession, go work as a social worker and help people who don’t finish high school, don’t try to better themselves even though there’s plenty of programs out there that our tax dollars go to invest in these people so they can have a brighter future and they still refuse to accept what’s being offered to them.

They want you broke, completely reliant on the government so they can have control over you. More power so they can keep their jobs in high paying positions because people need them to survive. Why can’t people understand that’s what the liberal agenda is all about?

here’s the quote:

“We left corporate America, which is a lot of what we’re asking young people to do,” she tells the women. “Don’t go into corporate America. You know, become teachers. Work for the community. Be social workers. Be a nurse. Those are the careers that we need, and we’re encouraging our young people to do that. But if you make that choice, as we did, to move out of the money-making industry into the helping industry, then your salaries respond.”

This is absolutely frightening the potential First Lady of the United States of American is brainwashing people to thinking it’s bad to make money and better yourself. There should be a law against this!!

Now I’m aggravated.

Rush is on with Laura Ingraham. Rush said that Michelle Obama went into Zanesville, Ohio, avergae income is below the national average, where people have very little education and told them do not become a corporate lawyer and do not become a hedge fund operator, Hillary was a corporate lawyer and Chelsea is in the hedge fund business. The point wasn’t to talk to Zanesville people is was an opportunity to attack Hillary because of the photos that were released.

All of this is taking away from the issues. The Obama camp doesn’t get up on stage and talk about how he wants to raise taxes or tell the voters what programs he wants to add and how the voters will pay for it. He doesn’t want the people to know how dangerous he is on foreign policy.

Okay, here is a question -

What is black and white and read all over?

Comment by KT

Yeah, good question, where’s our answer to the trivia question! Made us go all nuts for 2 days then we get the shaft with getting the answer.

Comment by Karen2 (K2)

KT – what’s the fun of talking about only one topic?

I am sure taxes fit into every topic we discussed.

But, why didn’t Adam say if we got the trivia answer right?

Comment by KT

Ok Adam

But K2 made me sway off the topic.
