Starbucks Shutdown…Hello Dunkin Donuts!
by Jamie Colby
Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz says hold on to your coffee cup!! For 3-hours today more than 7-thousand Starbucks will close…all part of ongoing training to “perk” up employees. I have to admit I just don’t understand what’s so sensational about Starbucks. Maybe it’s the donuts but when it comes to coffee, I’m a Dunkin Donuts girl. But no question, millions of you disagree and are willing to wait and wonder if the three people assigned at your Starbucks to get your one cup of Joe to the finish line will get it right.
Tell me your Starbucks stories and what you want employees to get out of this training today as you are forced to decaffeinate!

Never have understood the Starbucks phenomenon, but I don’t like fancy coffee. Make it fresh and make it black and I am good to go!!!!!
Jamie,
You might want to check HISTORY of STARBUCKS We received E-mail with the info — Our TROOPS in Iraq & Afag. asked Starbucks for some COFFEE !!!!!! They felt it would taste better then what they had to use!!!!!!!
STARBUCKS REFUSED to send any to them!!!
We’re sure they could of afforded it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m not a huge Starbucks fan, but I go for the experience of hanging out with friends or even just a newspaper. I get their plain old coffee, or even just tea, but I don’t love it. Now, Dunkin Donuts..I love their coffee! I’m a transplanted Bostonian and I’m used to having one on every corner, but where I live now, they’re few and far between. If DD could just master the art of making their shops worth hanging out in, they would have Sbucks beat, hands down!
I am not a coffee drinker so it is DD all the way for me as well - they have the best hot chocolate in the world!
Being from Australia, I am only able to devour this on my trips to America… argh!
I drink DD daily love it…..however SB is nice about six times year as a desert drink not as coffee.
I spend about 30 to 40 bucks a week on coffee. I think now is a good time to abstain, boycott, and kick the habit.
I think Starbuck’s is too expensive.
We now drink more coffee at home w/ Coffeemate Sugar Free French Vanilla…
we are saving oodles of $$…
and … they usually want a tip on top of that 5 bucks for a cup
I need a big cup of Starbucks coffee right about now as I watch Hillary and Obama “tear” into each other. Yawn. It was bad timing on Starbucks part to turn the machines off during the debate. Well, maybe at the rate they are droning on they will be reopened by the time someone pulls the plug on them. Yawn.
jamie,
i’ve never had a cup of coffee in my 43 years…but i do totally agree with you that dunkin donuts is the place! one of the worst things about relocating from the philadephia area out to san diego some 13 years ago is that there are no dunkin donuts down here - ugh!!! i miss those donuts.

Jamie…..
If people only knew the truth… Starbucks is as bad as the “Sweatshops” when it comes
to profiteering and plundering those who’s very lives are in the generation of the beans. These
people live in “Slums”. Starbucks should be ashamed of not sharing their profits a little more,
like educating the children?
Jamie,
I loooove Dunkin Dounuts,too!!!!!!!!
Starbucks is the worst coffee in the world. It’s too much work to order a simple cup of coffee or cappucino.I love the new”DD” commercial making fun of ordering a coffee in French/Itallian—Fritallian.Hahahahaha…
Also Starbucks is anti troops…BOYCOTT!!
