Charlie Crist, current governor of Big State Florida, would be best VP candidate on ticket with McCain. Why can’t everyone see that? You want a Republican (even if it is McCain) in the White House, don’t you? Then Crist it is. Google him or listen to him speak sometime.

I THINK that Mike Hucabee is a good choice as He is really a conserative & can reach the evangelical vote Also He & Senator Mckain are not one to send a nagative to others as much as the others really like to do. Why don’t the Demo’s get to real issues ??? I pray for God to put the one He would like. after We roll the dice ,Where it lands is up
to God !!. I am not voting for Obama, but He is no more negative than Hillary & her TEARS !!!!!

“Okay folks, about Huck as VP.

The same so-called conservatives who did not support, and even attacked Mike during the primary are not going to support Mike as a VP choice. There are too many of them inside McCain’s camp, and Mike is not going to be considered.

I know that is sad to hear, but that is the truth. McCain is an insider and he will play to the wishes of insiders in the GOP. Mike is not an insider, and the RNC only likes insiders.

I have already heard Hannity and others trying to push Romney for VP. This party has little respect for real conservatives, as evidenced by the GOPs watering down of issues like Abortion, Marriage, Moral decay, etc.

All the GOP focuses on these days is cutting taxes, fighting the war, and cutting spending etc. All good things, but the economic issues will not be solvable and the war will not be won unless the GOP gets the priorities right.”
So i may have been right a month ago when i said Mitt Romeny was all but given the VP spot when he dropped out and pledged delegates. Gov Huckabee would be the far better choice,but the powers that be that wanted McCain as the nominee are the same powers that be that will not want Mike as VP.
McCain may speak kindly of Mike on camera but that’s as far as it goes.

rudy and dennis miller. interesting you chose those over Huckabee.
Let me put it to you this way;McCain has to attract the conservative vote and the evangelical vote and grabbing the South does no harm either.If McCain were to pick Rudy you can forget getting the conservative vote right there.
And Miller is a great guy but he’s a personality.Period.And nobody would take him seriously as a VP.That would totally destroy McCain’s credibility.
Huckabee would not steal McCains thunder-he might actually add some to the ticket.Trust me it needs some.

I know a lot of people have expressed an interest in Governor Mike Huckabee. I like him too but I feel he would forget he’s not in charge and steal McCain’s thunder. I think he is a good person and politician and gifted speaker but he is too regional (South) and does not have the necessary command of foreign affairs. He would make a good Sec of Education as that seems to be one of his main reform goals. Governor Mitt Romney would be a good choice but his LDS faith is still difficult for many Americans to accept even though it never was an issue when he was Governor as far as I know and he gave a good speech much like JFK to explain how his faith will not interfere with his Presidential decisions but it fell on too many deaf ears. He would make a good Sec of Commerce or Treasury. Joe Liberman, Jack Kemp or Bill Bennett would be good choices but they are getting on in years and a younger candidate seems to be necessary for balance. I’d like to see Sec of State Condi Rice as his VP but I don’t think she wants to run. I hope she proves me wrong and Sen. McCain offers her the job. He doesn’t have much of a chance but I’d like to see Rudy on the ticket. As far as a personal favorite who will never be asked but who I think would be a perfect VP and attract the Baby Boomer votes, that would be Dennis Miller. He’s very bright, funny, yet serious when it’s called for and if McCain were every indisposed Miller would not hesitate to stand in for him and go toe to toe against any foe like Hugo Chavez, Kim Ill Jr. , or Mahmood Ahaneedajob. He’s give them a good piece of his mind.

Predicting McCain had made a deal with Romney and that he’d end up the VP choice.

Mike Huckabee drew out conservative voters that McCain couldn’t get. The conservatives don’t trust McCain. I like the idea of Condi Rice. She’s strong, smart, level headed but she has ties to Bush and we know where he stands at the moment. Mitt Romney has flipped as much as John Kerry. I was initially for him when the whole campaign started but have since lost a lot of trust and respect for him. I know there are a lot not in favor Huckabee but I think that Mitt Romney would be a huge mistake.

If McCain cares about the Christian vote (especially Evangelicals) and others who care about the core of families, he’d choose Huckabee. If he wants arrogance, Romney is his man. If he wants the Good ol’ Boys to choose for him, it could be Crist . KBH is an interesting choice. Condi would be amazing but she isn’t interested.

Me, a younger mom in a liberal state on the Left Coast… I heart Huckabee!

He should be careful here… the chattering is that many will let the Left have it to send a message of reform to the party.

It’s hard to believe there would even be hesitation on this decision. McCain NEEDS the southern states to win in November. Mike Huckabee proved he can win those states. Why take an unknown and put that person on the ticket as the VP? Seems like any choice other than Huckabee would be taking a big risk for the Republicans. Plus, McCain is so dull and drab, he needs someone with spunk and personality to spice up the race. Mike Huckabee is the only option as VP in my opinion.

you want the truth? Here tis;the day Romney dropped out and threw his delegates McCain’s way they had a deal for Romney on the VP spot. Either before he dropped out or right after.I’ll lay odds it was before…another one of those behind the door deals.How do i know this? Gut instinct-the way things are done-AND Romney has the $ for the campaign that McCain needs.That said,Huckabee is his best choice but i think the deal was already done.
Know how this goes.We shall see.

Interesting…ROmney’s website is back up…so his backroom bloggers are probably plugging in to all these “comment” sites and shoving ole Mitt down our throats once again so it “sounds” like everyone is for Mitt. NOT
Mitt is still Mitt…flip flopping to the end…negative campaigner…fake…plastic…not true blue…you name it…say only what he thinks you want to hear…UGH!!!
I’m telling you this…IF (a big “if”) this coupling with McCain happens…I’ll write in Mike Huckabee’s name on the ballot and so will a zillion others who believe in his cause. You ain’t seen NOTHING yet!

McCain will not win the general election unless Huckabee is on the ticket.
Besides, McCain is not a true conservative, he may not win the nomination

Please, remember the idea here is try to keep a republican in office, no matter how poor the choice (sorry) but PLEASE let’s not make this worse by thinking that adding somebody like Ron Paul, that although he had a few good ideas, was so far from midstream that he barely garnered votes… We already gave the nod to the one of the most left-leaning people for President in McCain as it is, lets not compound it by adding somebody more left leaning, then our choice would truly be democrat, or demorepublican, not much difference..
I think Mitt would be a poor chice strictly on the fact that he ran on a platform and threw it away as soon as he dropped out by backing McCain.
McCain leans too far left, he needs a strong conservative to balance his ticket, Huckabee, Hunter, Tancredo, or even Fred Thompson would be good choices. (I really like Newt too, but too much baggage?).

they lied again too.I just watched Fox news and they’re saying Condi Rice was the name floating around.Now look at the comments here and see that Condi’s name was mentioned what? Twice.
I’m going to blog and you can be sure that I will have ppl come over here and take notice of this.They mentioned Condi? Count the tally here folks.
Yep.The media does pick.
Now they’re picking this one for us.Why do they even bother to ask for comments?I’ll blog again and let’s see how many ppl we can get over here to note this and put in THEIR pick.Then we’ll see what the media does.
Did anyone besides me catch this on Fox tonight? Took some hubris didn’t it?

Huckabee is the obvious choice to me. He needs someone younger and more energetic. He would pull the conseravtives in who aren’t that crazy about MCain. He’s shown what he can do with limited resources.
