Rather than being proud of how much crap we can own or how much fuel we can burn, why not take 1 hour out of life and to try to understand how we affect not only the lives of those close to us, but also the amazing diversity of life that is just trying to get by on the planet. I've lived near the world's largest watershed my entire life, and all I can see is that the more we humans ignore the impact our daily habits have on nature, the more ugly, dirty, toxic the air, water, soil becomes. Why is this something to cheer? Why is this the kind of planet we would want to leave for our children and their children?
