New Info on the Life Laurean Lived in Mexico
BREAKING NEWS!
8:00pm est. I have just gotten word from the Attorney General’s Office in Mexico that Cesar Laurean is being held over in federal jail. His first private hearing was today and a federal judge in Mexico has recommended he be handed over to the United States for Extradition. This means the extradition process has begun. I am told this is always the first step and Laurean can still fight his extradition. At this hearing he does not make that decision. This is basically similar to a bail hearing in the United States, but different, where the judge looks at the evidence and the arrest and the complaint. He/she then decides to hold the suspect if the charges/arrest is found to be valid.
5:12 pm: We went to the town where Cesar was living for the past several weeks in San Juan de Viña, Municipio de Tacambaro, in the State of Michoacan, and we talked to several residents who knew him.
They said he lived in a house in the mountains, and would come down almost every day to the Internet cafe, he would sometimes work there for cash also.
As he walked down the hill he would talk to people along the way, saying hello and making small talk. But he mostly kept to himself. We went to the house where he lived. It was a two-room wooden house. It still had food, a notebook where he kept a diary of his daily exercises, and smashed cardboard boxes he used as a bed.
He also talked with Claudia Rauda Botello a 18 year-old-girl that talks regularly with Cesar and he told her that his uncle sent him to live up in the mountains and he lived alone there.
4:21 pm: The Mexican Attorney General’s office tells FOX News that one of the Mexican ministries is currently holding a private hearing and interrogation of Cesar Laurean in Mexico City.
The hearing is still in session as of 3:30pm ET. The hearing is part of the normal process, but it’s happening much quicker than usual.
2:08 pm: I just spoke to our contacts in Mexico and got some new info.
First Jorge went to the village where Laurean was hiding out. According to many villagers, no one knew he was a fugitive. He was living at a small farm surrounded by Alvocado and fruit trees. The house on the property was small and he apparently had mostly been living alone.
According to villagers he told them his uncle had put him up at the small farm and had him also doing odd jobs in and around the big city of Morelia.
Laurean frequented a small Internet cafe and also was frequently visited by an older women the villagers assumed was his mother.
Inside the small farm house was a workout plan written in English on a piece of paper and posted on the wall. It said stuff like, Mondays push ups etc.
People in the small village, while suspicious, are very surprised this guy was wanted in the U.S … for murder.
On the bottom of the list on the wall friday: Get caught
4th down the list was, Grow creepy mustashe and beard
I’m guessing it was the internet use that got him located.
Thanks for the updates, Adam. It’s nice to know I can come here and get the low-down. No, I haven’t been ignoring everyone….just working full-time and trying to keep up with my kids.
Hope everyone has had a wonderful week.
I have…..I got to spend Wednesday at Augusta National. You can check out my blog for pictures.

I’ve wondered what the heck happened to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO GLAD THEY CAUGHT THAT COLD BLOODED BABY AND MOTHER MURDERER.
Hi Terri~~ yeah, I’ve been MIA. I’ve even tried to lurk every now and then, but I can’t keep up.
I wonder what it was like for Laurean. Running. Hiding. Eating what food he could find. Always having to look over his shoulder. Never knowing who he could trust. What a miserable life.
Couldn’t happen to a ‘nicer’ guy. I’m glad they caught him and I hope they prosecute to the FULLEST extent of the law.
Thanks, Adam. Will do. And I’m looking forward to more baseball updates this summer. Anytime you’re in the area, let me know. Bring Tamera and watch my daughter freak!!!
Adam: Who are you with?
Okay, great, the guy was caught.
It’s like I tell my kids…”It’s one thing to be bad..But, it’s quite another thing, to be STUPID.”
MySpace !? What an idiot….!
Apparently, when he cleaned out the tragic victim’s ATM account, he didn’t steal enough to retire on…
And when his wife told the minister, a few years ago, “For better or for worse”, she was only kidding…Good for her.
Fox News reports he was “respectful”. A respectful double murderer is what he is then.

Terri: This weekend has been quite, i thin everybunny has been elsewhere.
How are you?
well.. mike is in beaver.. i’m home….
not much going on… i’ve been kind of lazy…
we had a great week though..
all of matthew’s doctor appts went GREAT!
our pediatric cardiologist thinks it’ll be somewhere from 5 to 10 yrs before matthew’s next surgery… so we have been snoopy dancing all over the place… his leak is pretty stable…
the last two times we went in, he said to plan for about 2 yrs…
i am just so happy… so if we’re lucky and nothing unforseen comes up… he’ll be at least 8 yrs old… after his next ECHO in six months… we’ll most likely go in once a year….
so awesome …
cabin is coming along great… ordered the doors/window…. we’re ordering the stain and caulking now… we’ll order roof next month…
gosh in a couple months it should be all “dried in”.
life is going good! yay!
Terri……….that is great news regarding Matthew.
Looks like it’s been a slow news weekend……which is good in a way. Could also be that people were doing their taxes…….I know that was my case. Bad news for me, but good news for GW……..at least he’ll have more money to buy bullets for the war effort. I just hope he doesn’t buy them from China……
Hi everyone! Hope you had a great week last week - I did.
Adam — I want to share a picture with you from my vacation since you always share yours! This is some place that you have been to before
http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii173/jlskylog/April2008LakelandFlorida159Large.jpg
***Good news here about Laurean. I doubt he will fight extradition; I’m sure he rather stay at the Trump Palace in the US than the seedy motel 6 in Mexico.
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend!
Adam ~ Thanks for the update. How long will it take for his extradition?
Jen ATL ~ I am with you on the baseball updates!
Terri ~ That’s great news about your son! I bet you have been snoopy dancing around the house!
Jen S ~ I know that place very well!
I have a picture some where of me in the same spot!
Hey Becky–
I go to Lakeland frequently, but generally don’t visit the stadium; this was a special trip - lol.
They sure have cleaned that place up since the last time I saw it. Thanks to this blog, I may get back into being interested in baseball - ( Go Reds! ) I watched the Superbowl for the first time in my life due to Adam’s reporting and blogging on it this year; so stranger things have happened.
‘Morning Adam and All.
Congrats Terri! Wonderful, exciting news for you and your lil magoo!!!!
Welcome Back Jen S.
re…the blog subject…another one bites the dust. Now take the wife down with him!
John–
What do you get when you put these two words together… ‘The’ and ‘IRS’ ?
Thx Patty
Good to be back - although I could easily live a life of vacation….
I like your picture!
Jen S ~ I go to Lakeland every two years. My mom is a HUGE Tigers fan. They have cleaned the place up quite a bit recently. I am a Braves fan!
Wow you watched the Superbowl for the first time this year! That just wouldn’t fly in my family…we are a sports family!
Terri: i’m glad everything went well!
grrrrrrr my post wont post!
Try again…
off subject…
How about a “feel good story” to start the week?
http://www.wibw.com/home/headlines/17562119.html
Don’t forget to read the comments at the end, one is especially worth it.
Patty: that’s sweet.
Patty ~ That was a great little story! Thanks for sharing!
I just wanted to share because we (joe public) just don’t hear stories enough about the military families and the little things that make their struggles worth it. Thank you to all the military families!!!
good morning everyone-
excellent story patty, one worth being told, I have said it before and I will say it again, Military Families are better than the soldiers, they are tougher, and their job is harder.
I know some of you disagree, but it is how I feel, soldiers just do their jobs. Families sit by helpless and wait while making do, that to me would impossible to do.
Jen S
TheIRS HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Do people grow up wanting to work for ‘those people’ or is it the drugs they took back in the 70’s?
Blonde and a brunette went to a bar after work for some drinks. The six-o’clock news had just come on and they were running a report of a man threatening to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge. The blonde turned to her brunette friend and bet her $100.00 that the man would not jump.
Sure enough, after a few tense moments, the man jumped. So the blonde gave the brunette $100.00.
“I can’t accept this money” ,he brunette said, “you’re my friend”
“No, a bet is a bet”,the blonde insisted, “you won”
Then the brunette confessed, “I saw this report on the 5 o’clock news, so I can’t take your money.”
“So did I” exclaimed the blond, “But I didn’t think he’s jump again.”
John ~ That was funny!
John,
Hhahahahahaha
What up folks?
…. Terri glad all is well
VACATION STARTS FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you everyone..
you’re all so sweet….
Big hugs to ya’ll.
Terri - great news! Thanks for sharing!
Jen - did you go to Busch Gardens? did you get a sunburn/tan?
Looks like it’s been a quiet couple of days here on Adam’s blog. I did not get a chance to log on while I was in CO. Was a little bummed about that but I was pretty busy having too much fun in the snow!
FL Sunshine: no need to feel bummed, you’re right it’s been a quiet few days, seems like a lot of posters weren’t logging on either
Where’s Susan?
Max - maybe everyone else is on vacation too. Looks like Avi will be soon.
http://michellemalkin.com/2008/04/14/liver-transplants-for-illegal-aliens-entitlements-and-open-borders/
Here Mike and I were told we would need $100,000 cash UPFRONT just to be placed on a waiting list… if Matthew were to ever need a heart transplant (which we hope NEVER happens).. but
no money… no list….
huh…
this kind of thing really makes me mad.
Terri - I’m with you! I have a friend who’s son donated his kidney to his dad. Thankfully they have good insurance but they have paid big $$$ still for all the surgeries and the follow up life long meds. Now they can’t be without insurance due to the cost of the meds alone.
That is just so wrong!!!!!!!!!! Let’s take care of everyone but our own - the ones who are paying for it! UGH!
FL Sunshine..
you know I agree w/ you totally…
American’s first, I say.
But that is NOT how it is…
I have said this over and over…
but we had so many healthcare workers tell us that we would have been better off being illegal….
(well, this was back when we had “run out” of insurance)…
that’s sad…
none of our lawmakers like it when I bring that up…
Terri - do/did you contact your Congressman/Senator regarding your issue? I’d pester them to death and contact the media with results. I honestly believe that the majority of American’s are not for all these hand outs to the illegals. Something must be done!
Terri-
May he never need the operation…amen to that
I had no idea you had an ailing tot, best wishes for you and your family on that, and if it comes down to the need for surgery, I hope you will allow some of us to do fund raising for you.
My hopes and prayers are that we all have good, strong, healthy, intelligent (republican…just playin), close, decent, fun-loving families and we all get as many years with them as possible.
Derek
Very well said!!!!!
Terri - Congrats
Adam - what are you up to?

You betcha I’ve been to our legislators … twice my hubby and I spoke before them…
they all know ME now!! *giggling*
but… I’m just one small little voice against those mean horrible awful lobbyists ….
The bill we were fighting for failed … even after my husband and I both testified a pretty tearful testimony…. the local news was there (they had been following Magoo)…
oh well…
I just keep letting everyone know…
AND DEREK…
that made me all teary…
thank you! But … we are good … we have more insurance coverage …. all is fine and dandy in the world …
I just keep praying that technology will be on our side… and by the time he does need his next conduit change … they can do it laproscopically (sp?) w/ live tissue vs cadaver tissue….
Now THAT would be a blessing!!
THANKS ALL OF YOU FOR BEING SOO DANG SUPPORTIVE……it really makes me teary and I feel so lucky to have you all.
Derek….
oh.. and he’s really not ailing …..
he was ailing big time that first year or so …
but he’s doing AWESOME now …
click on my name and you can see the little magpie…
you’d never know he had a thing wrong w/ him!
Terri–
More to say arrrgggg about. I left my high five for Magoo on your blog. ?
Sunshine–
We ended up at Animal Kingdom for a day instead - it was all good! I could go to FL forever.
Looking for your slide show!! You know where you can find mine.
I think Adam is working his second job. lol
Awww Patty~~
That story made me misty. I love stuff like that! Thanks for sharing.
Terri~~ I hadn’t told you yet how happy I was to hear that Matthew’s results came back so positive. Praise the Lord, my sister!!!
Sunshine: Susan has a busy week this week, so she’s going to be out and about and not able to post on here as much.
Terri: you’d never know he had a thing wrong w/ him!
Well we’d know he had had something wrong, at least in the past from the little scar under his neck.
Did magoo enjoy being in beaver?
Jen - good pictures. sorry for the rain but my plants needed it while I was gone. lol I love the pictures of the “humans” at Animal Kingdom.
They were real cute!
Click on my name for a tease picture. I really am going to get them all on there. It’s just finding the time.
That’s me and my boys.
(kind of looks like a picture of the neighbor on home improvement show however because you really can’t see their faces) hee hee
*tap tap tapping on the screen*
Adam, wheeeere aaaare you?
come out, come out, wherever you are!!!
*L*
FL Sunshine~~~ I’m buttin’ in to tell you that’s a great pic. Y’all look like you’re having a blast.
And Patty~~ I was going to post the exact same thing. Adam ought to know by now what happens when he leaves us to our own devices. mwuhahahahaha
Patty - I thought of you as we flew into CO last week while flying over Kansas and CO and seeing the circular and rectangular crop patterns plotted on the earth below our plane. It so neat to see from above and so very different than FL.
ADAM, any progress on the DFG story? I see MSNBC just ran a story on the missing Salmon. but, in my view they really missed the point and flubbed up on their facts.
Jennifer in ATL - thanks! We did have a blast! We were so blessed to have fresh snow every day but one. Awesome ski conditions and even better than that….no one got hurt. Last time out there, the oldest fractured his elbow when we were night skiing/snowboarding.
Sunshine: Looks awesome. Did you all come home from skiing uninjured?
FL….that sounds like KS! Some rolling hills, but mostly flat and crop ground.
We are in the NE corner (almost), 10+ hrs drive from where you were.
Jennifer Atl… *L*
yep..its not pretty!!!
Sunshine-
Cute! Can’t wait to see the rest.
Looks like your boys will soon be towering over you. I make my son sit down when I talk to him so we can see eye to eye. lol
Socal Surfer–
Good grief, this salmon situation has been declared a state of emergency in CA.
They better figure out what’s going on…things will only get worse.
Salmon is one of our favorites!
Heya Max…
Magoo had the greatest time in Beaver! It actually snowed and was very cold!! He loves being in my parents motorhome …. we are Baby Einsteined out….
the little magpie! My mom spoils the heck out of him….
sure is funny how he gets aways w/ some stuff WE never got away with… *clears throat*
FL sunshine…
