Pictures from DC

Here are a few pictures I snapped while on the quick trip to DC. I thought I would have time to walk down the mall, but between meetings and the dinner, I had absolutely no time whatsoever. So these pics, other than the Washington Monument, came from near the Fox Bureau. The Monument picture I took in a cab while driving in traffic. You can see my seat was ok for the dinner and we had a nice group of people at our table including correspondents Jennifer Griffin, Greg Kelly and James Rosen. Bob Novak, some great DC producers, Marine General Conway and his wife were also at our table.

Thanks for sharing those pics, Adam! I liked how the Washington Monument is in line with the sun….

My how handsome you look– love the kerchief in your pocket! Nice tie– from the trunk show?

Mr O sure is tall– as you are tall and he is taller than you!!! What was his word for the evening? Were there any Pinheads there? Or all Patriots?

Looks like you had a nice evening– where is Tamera?

great pictures! thanks for sharing~

Adam - Nice Pics! Thanks for sharing them with us Fox Fans! Very good picture of the Romney’s too.
Any news on the t-shirts? :-)

Good morning all…….

This is from Janice Dean’s blog……personally I think it’s an assinine cover. What will they use this historical photo for next, a Viagra ad?

Comment by FL Sunshine

John - that Time cover is as you say “assinine”. What’s next? Jesus on a plastic recycled cross?

Comment by Patty

Adam…great pics as always. When I saw the one of Bill O…i thought you had to take that one just for john! ha ha

Comment by Patty

john…i agree, that cover is terrible. People should go to jail for crap like that during war time, or anyother time for that matter.

Comment by Little Piggy

Everyone says you broke that wine alright. You broke the seal and drank it all then gave Greta a bottle of Boone’s Farm strawberry wine! lol

Okay - saw this morning and thought I’d share. Hope no one is offended. :-o

Awesome photos….I loved the one of Mr O.

John-that cover is disgusting! I know it shouldn’t amaze me how far people will go to push their agenda, but it always does.

Comment by FL Sunshine

Little Piggy - yes, I will have to believe Adam’s story. :-) He obviously can get his hands on as much wine as he wants whenever he wants.

Comment by Jen S

Little Piggy–

“Washington is broken”
….so yes, I believe Adam. Besides, it’s par for the course for his traveling adventures! LOL

Comment by Little Piggy

Next time you talk to Romney tell him if he had been that funny during the campaign he would have gotten my vote! He was hilarious and the shining star at that event. Maybe he and Cheney should do a road show together. Kind of like Hope and Crosby from days gone by…..

Comment by Becky

Adam ~ Great pictures! I do like the one of the Washington Momument with the sun directly behind it as well.

FL Sunshine ~ Not offended…that was funny!

John ~ I agree with you…that is assinine and why in the world would anyone want to compare WWII to Global Warming is beyond me!

Adam

great pics!

John,

As a former Marine, I am saddened and angry that a left wing rag like TIME would use the memory of one of the most savage battles in Marine history to make an at best dubious political/environmental statement.

There is away to strike back though. DO NOT purchase a TIME rag, not now, not ever. They will apologize, but it will be meaningless because they will do something like it again and be “surprised” by the outcry from veterens and veterens families. They do these things to offend vets (not just Marines) all in the name journelistic expression and for the shock value thinking that it will increase their sales…thats why I have not bought or read a TIME rag since around 1982…not even after 911.

Comment by LDG

@John, Retread and All

re: TIME magazine cover

They do it to intentionally demean something of value to the very constituency they beleive opposes the ‘progress’ they support.

“If your foe is quick to anger…” and all that.

The best answer other than the obvious of not buying the rag, if I may, is to distain it once and then ignore it.

Comment by John

Retread………I totally agree with you and I haven’t bought,picked up or even glanced at a Time rag in many years. I even contemplated not posting the link, for fear it would give them more undeserved free exposure, but I thought some of us here would be interested in seeing the trash that this “rag” is capable of producing.

Addenda:

Oh, and if you’ve never looked at the numbers, compare 5+ years in Iraq, a country roughly bigger than California, with the losses on little ol’ Iwo Jima over a few weeks. (correct name Ioujima or Ioutou, BTW)

Here’s the wikipedia entry. usual caveats re: Wiki-p.

And something different (way different):

Anyone else noticing FOXNews mainpage loading (refreshing) particularly slowly into IE7 these last couple days?

Something is screwing with the bandwidth allowed for the access, especially regarding the advertising client. It is something new, as I’ve never had problems before and nothing has changed on my end’s configuration … and I can watch my best anti-spam/anti-spy monitor get busy during the refresh, too. Not confidence-building, that.

Comment by LDG

@Adam Housley

My thanks for your consideration.

Comment by John

LDG……..I just did a quick comparison to some other news sites and Foxnews.com is indeed loading much slower than them.
Could it be a CNN plot? Or something larger and more devine……..Wolf Blitzer did get to meet the Pope last night……..While Bill O’ was stuck in NY left to analyze the Pontiff’s body language……….

Comment by Little Piggy

Ah Adam, I believe you didn’t really chug-a-lug all that wine before you gave Greta what was left, but it is Friday and I am bored. A little East Coast/West Coast feud between you two might help the day pass more quickly and I am more than happy to stir the pot. lol lol

Comment by John

Speaking of Bill O’……….I have an idea what this is:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,351732,00.html

since it gets at it’s loudest during the airing of The Factor, I believe it’s 6.6 billion earthlings wondering what they have just heard………..Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Comment by LDG

@John

In the spirit of your “Could it be a CNN plot? Or something larger and more devine(sic)…”

don’t discount the possiblity of:
EVIL, PURE AND SIMPLE, FROM THE 8TH DIMENSION!

((grin))

Comment by John

Make that 5.9999999 billion earthlings…….I don’t think Keith Olberman is watching.

Comment by FL Sunshine

John - maybe it’s the groaning of countless dissatisfied voters across America

Comment by John

Fl Sunshine…….I think you just hit the nail on the head……and got Bill O’ off the hook. The humming/groaning does indeed get loudest during Bill’s show, but only when he mentions Clinton, Obama and McCain during the same segment……….And, when the body language “specialist” comes on.

Comment by Karen T

Wheeeee!!!!!!!!!! We have pictures!!!

Comment by Karen T

Adam!! Where ya been?

I love your tie, compliments you nicely-perfect color!

my favorite picture is you with Bill!! That’s a cool photo!

I’m talking to myself again

ok.. I, unfortunately, have to get back to this event we’re doing… so I’ll check back later tonight. Hope everyone is doing well!!

Comment by Retread

LDG

should I break out the little aluminum hats? I’ve heard their brain manipulating rays can cause a person to vote for Obama…really scary that 8th dimension.

Comment by LDG

@Karen T

Not talking to yourself, I for one am just slow to reply…

“…to get back to this event we’re doing…”

Luck with that, and thanks again for your link to “Know About Congress” in your name-link.

Morning to all— real quick note here to Adam–

Who cleaned up the wine mess after the bottle broke? I bet that was a sight!

and that is a funny story!!! Glad Washington D.C. was also able to share some of the wine!

Greta did a great job teasing you! :D
Have a good day everyone!!!

Hey Adam Great Pix! I have been off line with a computer crash! Sounds like you had a great table!

@Max

heh, perhaps I did imply something like that… Or at least their editorial policies.

@John

Ah, a reasonable choice there. ((grin)) Glad to see you have a place for the classics in your collection, however.

In honor of the weeks events……The Pope, the wine….and bad jokes..
Y’all have a good weekend! LOL

A policeman stops a car which is driving erratically. When he approaches the driver, he sees that he’s a priest. ‘Excuse me Father’, says the policeman, ‘but have you been drinking?’. ‘No’, says the priest, ‘I only drink water’. The policeman spots an empty wine bottle on the passenger seat and says to the priest ‘So why do you have that?’. ‘Well I never’, replies the priest, ‘he’s done it again!’

Comment by LDG

@Jen S

((grin)) A good one, that!

and with my fill of amusement for the day, I need be going now.

Be Well and Safe, All. See you on the ‘morrow.
