The "crossover vote" will prove to be the death-knell of the Indiana Republican party, at least at the local level. I come from a small county south of Indianapolis--Brown County--and two-thirds of party "loyalists" abandoned the ticket to cast their vote in the national primary as Democrats. The result: nominations for one county commissioner candidate who has been indicted on a felony, and another who is a bully and likes to shoot his gun and intimidate the guests of a local bed & breakfast. The gene pool is pretty shallow down here, and we cannot afford this distraction.

Indy make the right choice. We in ohio did. Speeches only get you so far. We also need to make MI and FL count before the end. I know what the DNC is doing. You would have to be a ninny not to. Wait till after say since obama has the votes they don't need to do anything about it and just seat mich and florida. Which is totally stupid. I at least think hillary should get all of florida because both names were on the ballot. Obama even did tv ads there. Which they weren't supposed to. But used the excuse that he had already paid. He could of canceled but would of lost that money. Wow that would of hurt his campaign. NOT! Good luck Indy do Ohio and PA proud!

Craig-

Quite honestly, there is a HUGE problem with illegals in our area, especially northern Indiana. Democrats (for the most part) seem to want to let them stay and live off the system.
Residents of Indiana are hardworking, middle class people and we hate to see our money go into a giant pool just to be redistributed to non-working individuals who have numerous children and don't take care of them.

That being said, however, I voted for Hillary. I really don't like the woman, and I'm most certainly not a democrat- but I fear what would happen to our country if Obama was in charge. His pastor's comments really had a big impact on me, even though he denounced him. Obama didn't stick around that church for 20 years for the heck of it... we can't have a racist president- no matter what color his skin is.

I don't get it. Why are so many people looking for change with a candidate whose wife hasn't been proud
to be an American until this year. Our esteemed candidate has had a minister for 20 years who has done nothing but criticize our fine country. Could not separate himself from his minister until he has shown to be a problem for the nomination. Criticized his own white grandmother . Are you kidding me.
Vote Hillary.

Will Hillary switch to be Independent and make it a three way split vote for the general election in November? Imagine another Ross Perot syndrome! Clinton (Independent), McCain (Republican) and Obama (Democrat) in November, watch it happen!

I believe that if Hillary doesn't get the democratic nomination that she will eventually switch to being independent just like Lieberman. Remember Lieberman lost the democratic primary and then switched to independent and won the re-election for U.S. Senator. I strongly wants the presidency. Clinton will take on Obama and McCain on a three way split on the November election. Remember this she will switch to independent if she loses the democratic primary, I'm the first one to call this!

Uh Obama has already won people. Pennsylvania was the big day and she did not win by enough to ever pull ahead. But I'm glad you think you count I'm sure it's the most fun you have had around there in a long time. We have serious problems in this country and we are waisting our time voting on a primary that is already over. No wonder America can't fix it's self. We would rather live in la la land. We want to feel all fuzzy happy and like we matter. We only matter as a united group and there is nothing united about the democratic party thanks to a member who refuses to live by her own words. "Obama may be winning a lot of states but it is delegates that count" Remember that one. And on and on and on of why this has to keep going even though the end is the same. I don't know why anyone would want the job of President at all who wants to deal with all the whinning idiots who keep getting sucked in by false campaign promises and then they can't deliver them and the angry mobs turn on you on a dime and hate your guts. The President does not control gas prices, the President can't make laws, the President can't make your food cheaper, and on and on Congress does most of that and the World economy and issues does the rest. People relly should have to take a civics test inorder to get a voter card in this country. I really don't care how much money or schooling a person has they should at least know how this country works before they vote for someone who is promising them something they can never do. And that goes for all the candidates they are all betting you don't know how it works and will belive what they say. Looks to me they are right because you are all voting for the ones that promise the most suckers

Great post, Tweekie B!! We don't know enuf about Obama to entrust him with our security. He has already tried to mislead us about his past relationships. He is a slick orator, who could easily be an "operative" for causes no true American wants anything to do with. If he is such a "unifier," why did he attend the church of the greatest "divider" I've ever heard, for over 20 years, while buddying up with a terrorist who was on the run from the authorities for 10 years. No, I really don't want to see him privy to the most sensitive and valuable information the U.S. has to offer. I think it would be in unsafe hands overnight!

We (my hubby and I) just voted this a.m. It was not the first time I voted for a Democrat, but with each passing year and with the world condition, I become more and more conservative. I am college educated, but know that those who've been lucky enough to go to college for an education often hear way-out left diatribes and politicizing that make real politicians look inept. In the past, most people tuned out the BS. Not anymore, I am afeared. We are headed for a bigger bru-ha-ha than the Russian Revolution, sparked by those who use credentials as billy clubs, suckering the proletariat.
My husband is also a member of a labor union and their mind set is never about bettering the condition of the average worker, but in cutting the best political deals. Politician and labor union officials must think all people are stupid and don't check the voting records of their representatives. We also know many people who lost a huge chunk of their pensions as a compromise just so that the labor unions could stay in the game and steel mills would stay open and produce less with each year.
I don't trust anyone. Not the media. Not the politicos. Not the labor unions and big business CEOs. Not academia. Not even the clergy. All are fishing for an angle that they can exploit for their own personal gain. My husband is a combat veteran of Vietnam. He knows better than to trust any of the above.
When I cast my vote, it is for integrity. It is for commitment. It is for willingness to let us be so that we can go on living. It is for folks that have some foresight and know the condition of the world today and have a vague idea what needs to be reigned in to halt the runaway horse. And how to stand up to the bullys of the world who hide behind the pretense of economic hardship and national origin to disrupt the entire planet, just to uphold their religious pecking orders and win out over which sect was closer to Muhammad.
I am sick of the pervasive world view that everyone is a victim and that everyone owes the poor, or the 'different,' etc. The only thing we owe them is the safety and ability to make their own decisions and live by those consequences. That is it. No more and no less. That is why I voted for Hlllary today and will likely vote for McCain this fall.

I am sick of the pervasive world view that everyone is a victim and that everyone owes the poor, or the ‘different,’ etc. The only thing we owe them is the safety and ability to make their own decisions and live by those consequences. That is it. No more and no less. That is why I voted for Hlllary today and will likely vote for McCain this fall.

We're watching from next door in Illinois as well. We had our chance and it's good to see our neighbors enjoying the limelight as well.

Use your head and make the right choice for your future!

That's great for Indiana, I'm glad it is generating buzz & turnout. But I have to ask: Why do the votes count in Indiana, and (presumably by exclusion) not in North Carolina? Last I checked, neither candidate can win w/ delegates so the popular vote and/or outright wins are the only things up in the air.

I'm not an Obama supporter, but this smells like the press priming their audience for "Hillary wins BIG in all-important Indiana Primary"...which will likely be followed on the back page in 6-point font "Obama barely wins NC".

This is great for democracy. Regardless for who you support, I am glad that every state is getting an opportunity be apart of the Democratic process. IN and NC, keep up the good work. Now, we have to ensure FL and MI have a say as well.

Obama, quick being a wimp and allow these states to decide.
