The first year I was in Florida, 2006, I saw the charred palm trees :( and smoke from the fires near Cocoa and Port Canaveral (general area.) I saw like 10 minutes of good rain (and lightning on the ocean) one day out of 10 days I was there. While in Florida last year, I saw live FNC coverage of the fires... and like 5 minutes of sprinkles one day out of 10. This year I saw the news of the fires within days of returning from Florida. I felt literally 3 drops of rain as my ship was maneuvering the Tampa Bay. That's it. I have been extremely lucky to have had such incredibly great weather for my vacations.
