First Pitch Surprise!

Many of you new to this blog may not know that I am a huge baseball fan and have covered many a story that crosses over to the news side of things. So when I find a baseball story that becomes news I do my best to cover it and this one takes the cake for our national pastime. Last year we covered military opening day with the San Diego Padres and no other professional team goes as far as they do to support our men and women in uniform. While covering the Padres on this occasion and a few others, we became friends with their PR staff’s which include George Stieren and Warren Miller. They just had their colleague Erik Meyer send me the story and video of 11-year-old Brad Warnick, joined on the mound by mother Irene and 8-year-old sister Ashley, who thought they were just representing the USS Midway Museum in San Diego in honor of their fathers service in the Navy. BUT…..dressed in full Padres catching gear behind the plate was Petty Officer 1st Class Rick Warnick, their father & husband. Petty Officer Warnick is part of the crew currently deployed on the USS Nimitz, scheduled to return next month. Warnick was flown home early to surprise his family on the field through cooperative efforts of the USS Midway Museum and the Navy. This video is what it’s all about.

UPDATE: Rick Warnick has left a great note on this blog, so scroll down to find it. Also, his wife had found out the night before and kept the kids out of the loop. Watch closely, you’ll see the emotion in the Brad and Ashley’s eyes.

Comment by Heather

Just a quick correction: The USS Nimitz just returned to North Island this past Tuesday, June 3rd, and its 5,500 sailors and marines are now home with their loved ones – and we’re grateful they’re not out there for another month! PO1 Warnick was flown home nearly a week early for the May 28th Padres game.

Comment by Susan--AZ

Sylvia–

I think I will do a surprise thing– I just sent the invitations out to all of you! We are going to meet at the winery and start our party there!

latest headlines on the right here on Adam’s blog-

Scott Peterson is headed to trial again– wrongful death suit–

the only thing I hate about this is that Scott will be in a courtroom instead of in his present home which means he will have some sort of change of scenery which he will probably enjoy because as for the wrongful death suit, he is probably laughing– no $$$$$$$$ to be given—

It’s a ruse………….this “girlie” video is undoubtedly a ploy posted by the bride-to-be’s family to throw the A.P.E.S off the track. Making Adam look like a gentle kind hearted soul, that would like nothing more then to forgo his hard earned freedoms of bachelorhood to marriage.

Baloney Sandwiches, I say………A.P.E.S intelligence sources have disected the video and have come to the conclusion that this is Adam’s cry for help…………….the pitch in the dirt indicates that Adam is still fighting them off at the altar, but he’s starting to lose ground. The unemotional response by the family indicates that this is not a natural situation……… A.P.E.S, we are being called to duty.

Don’t worry Adam, the Sarge and I are in the G.R.E.M.L.I.N with V.E.G.A in tow. We’re approaching the Appalachian mountains now and are on our way to pick up Retread in SD. After we dig him out of the snow we’ll make our treck across the Rockies to LA……….As long as gas stays below $4.50/gal we should be there in two months.
LDG will approach from the west in one of those left over WW2 Kamakazee subs……..overpower one of the drug runners subs from Mexico and meet us in Long Beach,CA
Avi, steal one of those Hezbolah Iranian made rockets and ship it to LAX. I know there not accurate, but we just need something that makes a lot of noise………..label it as Kosher Deli Equipment from Israel and it should clear customs.
Max, call Margaret Thatcher and tell her we have another Falklands situation and she should fire up The Fleet. Have it head to the Panama Canal……….LDG will guide them from there.

Hang in there Adam, the A.P.E.S are rolling……….just keep fighting and everytime you hear someone ask you, ” Do you, Adam….? “, scream at the top of your lungs, ” NO, I DON’T “

Its such a emotional thing when your husband and father gets to come home. However, its more special when you are taken off gaurd and surprised by your loved one who has been gone for so long. Being a military wife myself, it always hits home when you see a video like this. TO ALL THE SERCIVE MEMBERS GOD SPEED AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR COURAGE TO PROTECT AND DEFEND AT ALL COSTS.

Comment by D. A. Clark

Media should cover and support more of these stores about our Military who are giving so much for the rest of us who are home and out of harms way enjoying the Freedoms of America they are trying to protect for us.

I grew up the daughter of an Army Officer and know first-hand that children worry about their fathers and whether they will be coming home again. We also try and hide that fear from our mothers, so they don’t have us to worry about also, and always try to be positive.

Thanks for supporting our Troops.

Comment by David Skinner

How great is it to be an American?! There is nothing like shedding a tear for the pride you have in your country. Hope the Padres won the game that day.

If THIS doesn’t get ya, NOTHING will! Way to go S.D., you’re a class act.

Crying in Ca. My Dad was in WWII and if I had been around then when he came home and been old enough to see it happen, I would have been laid out flat on the ship. That would do me in to see my Dad come home on a surprise like that, WOW!

What a TERRIFIC surprise.

Beautiful story Adam, great work. We need more of those.

Comment by Shannon

That was really neat and very cool of the Padres to do that for that family!

That’s touching but who are you? I take it you are a famous reporter.

Comment by Jorge

Ok I hope I won’t have to surrender my “man-card” but I cried like a baby seeing that. God bless our troops!!!!

Comment by Scott

Great story, and thanks for posting! As the son of an Army officer, I can definitely relate to those kids.

Interesting claim; however, that “no other professional team goes as far as they do to support our men and women in uniform.” I wonder how much research was done on that, and what the Padres do. Going to high school right outside of St. Louis, I can tell you that the Cardinals allow military members and their families in free to everyone regular season game, with open seating anywhere in the stadium. Pretty cool huh?

Comment by Mark in California

Wow!

This is great. Anything you can do to show our soldiers that America is grateful and fully supports them is appreciated.

Susan: I don’t know how to drive, and alcahol is legal here for my age, and i gave up on my new year resolution of 2007 just before easter. But no more thane one or two units of alcahol a day.

That was pretty sweet video. But the boy looked like he didn’t know what to do, he must have been shocked.

The family certainly does NOT look surprised! I can tell you that most folks would have been jumping up and down with joy at the sight of a loved one returning as he did. Maybe they should have gotten another serviceman and his family instead!

Comment by Michael Walls

As one of the many thousands of men who have served aboard the USS Midway during it’s 46 year history of serving our country, it doesn’t surprise me that her MAGIC has once again touched the lives of one of our own. My best wishes to Petty Officer Warnick his family and all the men and women who serve in our armed services around the globe protecting those who can’t protect themselves. Though I chose to leave the service after my 4 year hitch, my love for the Navy and especially the Midway and her MAGIC have never waned.

God Bless and great job Adam as it is good to see a “feel good story” amid all of this gloominess in the world!

Comment by Gail A. Patterson

I do not know the family in this video, but I have a kindred spirit with them. I am the proud and thankful mother of a 19 year old son who is a Marine who recently returned safely to the states from his first tour in Iraq. I cannot think of anything that would thrill a family any more than what I saw on this video! I would just like to say THANK YOU for everyone who was involved in making this special reunion possible! I would also like to say THANK YOU to this man for sacrificing his life to serve his country! And a special THANK YOU to his wife and children!

Comment by Nick

He should have let the girl through the ball……

Good story. I don’t know though, if I saw my dad was home from Iraq, I’d definitely would be more excited. Those kids didn’t show any real emotion.

Comment by MJ Gravina

Very awesome.

This sort of thing needs to happen more often. Most of those coming back home suffer depression and other things that perhaps we could help with, even if just a bit.

Know a vet? Let them know your appreciation, to his service (no need to be political in order to be human).

Just wish this happened more often. No need of Padres or Athletics to give these families a good comforting moment. They surely deserve it.

Comment by Ed

Democrats everywhere are seething at this. They hate anything that shows the US military in its true glory. Can you believe we are stupid enough as a nation we are about to elect one of these hate filled misfits president?

Comment by Michael in Tucson

Outstanding!!! Very few things compare to watching your loved one return from the military, especially in a combat unit. I am a Air Force Veteran who watched two of my sons join the Marines and deploy to Iraq for two tours. I was there when they enlisted, when they left, and will be their return. It is one of the most defining moments you will ever experience. Thanks SD what a class act.

Comment by Gamma

Why did the family not seem too surprised, nor ecstatic, to see him?

Back in the 60’s, my Dad was tranferred to Japan to work on aircraft for a year or so. To a kid, that’s an eternity.

One day in elementary school, my brother, sister and I were called to the Principal’s office. Catholic School with all nuns, mind you. We’re like, what’s this all about. The Principal then signaled for someone to enter the room… it was our Dad… totally unexpected. (not exactly throwing out the first pitch in a major league baseball stadium, but it was cool) And yes, Susan…I’ll never forget that moment.

The boy in the video probably got so used to being the *Man* of the family and being brave and all… then his Dad appears from nowhere, it’s awkward. I bet he was happy as a clam as soon he got home and it could just be him and his Dad.

Nice family, nice video.

I was born and raised in San Diego and have been a lifelong Padres fan, even though I do not live in San Diego any more. Adam, you are absolutely correct when you noted that the Pads are extremely supportive of San Diego’s military community. I wish more organizations could be this way as it takes so little to create such a positive impact on a person’s life.

Comment by Larry

That was cool! Glad to see MLB and especially the Padres doing something for the military. Way to go SD.

Comment by Dan and Kris

I have loved the Padres since 1984 and the comeback from an 0-2 hole to beat the cubs. Until now that has been my favorite memory of the Padres. Way to go Padres now for this amazing story…and for beating the godless cubs in ‘84.

Comment by Ken Stallings

I just wish he had taken the mask off earlier so we could have seen the kids run to him!

The Padres are such a class organization to make this happen. I’m an Atlanta Braves fan, but I have nothing but total respect for the Padres for this. As a military officer myself who deploys, this really touched a warm spot in my heart!

Okay. This is pretty cool. Why the hell can’t other towns, cities and organizations show this sort of pride in our military, even if they disagree with policies or the war. Way to go San Diego – this is the sort of thing that makes me glad to live in this country.

Awesome, Padres, Awesome! God Bless America & all of your organization. I am not a big “baseball” fan, (Florence, Oregon-what baseball?) but I am a fan of patriotic organizations. After my service in the Air Force, I spent my professional career in LA (Rockwell). Retired. Age 73. Also, Fox, thanks for the report! Oh, by the way, my youngest daughter is Army 1st Sgt., her husband (Special Forces, Medic)also
a Master Sergeant, (oooh, 6 foot-6, muscle: stand tall privates!), but in this case, obviously 2nd Sergeant! The youngest, a son, after 9 years as an MP, took GI bill to UofO, graduated, been Ore State Trooper for 3+ years. Dang, this pitchers mound video got me going! Enough! Thanks Again–Jack

My memory— My big mouth– I was in Bolivia, in a classroom, about nine years old, and I got into trouble for sticking up for a friend who the teacher at the time was being rude! So I was reprimanded by standing in a corner– in front of all of the class to serve as an example!

Now- today– First Amendment, I believe in! Thanks to that incident! (As long as it is reasonable)

I am a 77 yearold miltary retiree. I am a father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and I am as tough as nails. However this makes me catch my breath and shed a few tears.
——————————————————————————————————————

Jack–

When my daughter came back from South Korea, from Air Force, my tough as nails attitude, dropped!
She finally came back! She spent four years with the Air Force and she she has still two more for obligation!

If Iran and Iraq go to war, she has to deploy! What a mother’s nightmare!

I think this video is awesome!! As many of us can may relate!

This video is too cool. It shows how the military is beginning to realize that family is as important as the service of their personnel. Kudos to the Padres & the US Navy for the early reunion!

That is totally awesome

The Navy, how I loved it and still love what it does for those sailors who serve with pride!

Tell that out of touch newscaster who got chills listening to Obama that this is what brings chills to a lot of us–maybe more than he will ever understand. This has substance.

This sort of thing never gets old. Of course, that’s a good thing, because over the last 7 years this sort of routine has been done many times.

In a time when fatherhood is so low on our priorities in society, and many children are raised without true fathers. (Not just sperm donors…who abandon) This story made me tear up and boo hoo! I have 5 children, 1 son 16, 1 adopted son 14, and three foster children, 2 years, 14 months, and 3 months. To see a father take such pleasure in seeing his kids, and to see the kids happy as well makes me proud to be called a Dad! Its the most important job I have and I never plan to retire!!!
Thanks for making my day! GREAT STORY!!!!
p.s Everyone please remember to Honor Them All! regardless of your views on politicians, politics, and IRAQ, remember that the soldiers, airmen, naval, and marines are there by order and doing the best they can in a situation that is very difficult. I think we should all put aside our approval or disapproval and make sure we Honor Them All! Thank your local Vet, soldier, military family today. It makes them stand taller, feel prouder, and know we are behind them!!!

i cried like a cow…..i’m navy retired 20 years now….i can relate…..great story…..what a fantastic event for that family….. GOD BLESS AMERICA! to the doubters of the story, i will say…..i came home (to the Philippines) one time unexpectedly, my wife was defrosting the ref, i set my bags outside, walked in the door, to the kitchen, cleared my throat. she turned and looked at me and said….”what are you doing here”? wasn’t like she didn’t miss me, just that i caught her by surprise! (good thing she was alone huh!) anyhow, happily married for like 28 years now….and i hope nothing but health and happiness for the Warnick family.

Adam – thanks for sharing the video. It’s always great to see these stories! Did the wife know he was going to be there? She didn’t seem surprised. Maybe she was just in shock.

I am an all-American patriot…I bleed red, white and blue. Heck, I’m more excited to watch NASCARs pre-race show than the race because they have flyovers, have real American fans, wave flags, and show deep appreciate for our troops. The lack of joy on this video really bummed me out. But hats off to the Padres for trying!

Comment by Jim Jarrell

This is the kind of story thast we should see more often. Brilliant!!!!! Sitting here at work and still almost cried when I saw it. Thank God for all of those who serve. God Bless our Troops. Go America!!!!!!!!!

Comment by Derek

To all of the people who were wondering about the less-than-surprised reaction of the wife…

I am not married but I have been with my girlfriend for almost three years. I could tell it was her by the outline of her body and the way she walks even if she was wearing Arctic gear. My guess is that the wife realized it about halfway through and let it be a surprise for the kids.

Comment by kman

Hi Susan,

Just to clarify, the whole family didn’t go to Japan, just Dad. When he showed up like a year later out of the blue, well…

My Mom was in on it, this family’s Mom may have been too. Afterall, the planning that goes into the whole thing to pull it off, right?

Ha Ha, I’ve seen a classroom corner or two in my day. Good for you sticking up for your friend.

Comment by Rick

Thanks to everyone that supports our Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, and Marines. About the reunion (yes I am the Rick in the video), my wife did know I was coming home, I had actually got in the night before. Next to meeting my wife and the birth of my kids, I would say this is the greatest thing that ever happened to me. My kids were shocked, but this is not my first deployment (I have been gone 327 out of the last 426 days), so I think my kids were more shocked about being in front of everyone in PETCO…

Comment by Ben Stephenson

That video is very cool. I teach my two boys that true heroes are not people with super-powers, but real people who put themselves in harm’s way to save others. It doesn’t take any guts to hold up an anti-war sign. It does take guts to leave your family half a world away and work for peace in a place where you are a target for extremists. Let’s restore our nation’s respect for the military that has made us free and give these hard-working public servants the honor they have earned as the bravest of the brave.

My compliments to the USS Midway Museum, the U.S.N., and to the Padres organization for having this happen and making the video available freely.

Would appreciate your advising USS Lake Erie that they are *not* to engage against a hypersonic suborbital vehicle inbound to the U.S. West Coast originating from East Japan. Otherwise, this could hurt a whole bunch. Thanks. Recommend you also advise socalsurfer to take the lead on guiding in R.N. assets that are in-route.

“…or is foxy the cat? *L* I’ve forgotten!”

Perfectly reasonable confusion on your part, there being two Princesses and all…

Princess Foxy = Mrs. LDG’s nom-de-internet. She may well be a fox. They are tricky (in japanese legend).

Princess Little Mew = Ashley, who is certainly a cat.

back closer to on-topic:

I was searching about (in Japanese) for any reference to the fact that the Fighters hosted an “American Ball Park Weekend until 2002 (when they moved out of Tokyo and up north). This was a very cool thing, and they always made tickets available to the personnel and families from the U.S. military bases in the area. Sadly, it seems no other team picked up the event. I did see that the off-post tours arranged for American personnel still include going to some games in both Yokohama and Tokyo.

Colombia, Venezuela to verify identity of suspected military arms trafficker

Last update: 6:05 p.m. EDT June 7, 2008
Bogota, Jun 7, 2008 (EFE via COMTEX) — The Colombian government established contacts with Venezuela to try to verify the identity of a person said to be a sergeant in the National Guard of that country and who was nabbed near the border on grounds of selling arms to the FARC.
Colombian Foreign Minister Fernando Araujo said Saturday that there was an exchange of messages between the two Foreign Ministries to corroborate the identity of Manuel Teobaldo Agudo Escalona, who said he was a member of the Venezuelan National Guard.
“We in the Foreign Ministry have established contact with the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry so they can help us with aspects of the investigation and verify once and for all the identity of the accused and any others who could be implicated. In this case the two Foreign Ministries are going to coordinate their work,” he said.
He also said that upon verifying the identity and establishing the charges that will be filed against the supposed Venezuelan soldier, “from the point of view of Colombian justice the full weight of the law ought to be applied” and said that he was sure that the Venezuelan government will carry out the necessary investigations and apply the corresponding sanctions.
Press accounts said Saturday that when Agudo Escalona was caught he had in his possession a beret of the kind used by officials of the Venezuelan Defense Ministry, and apparently preliminary investigations show that the munitions were stolen from a military garrison in Valencia.
It was then supposedly transported by car to the border and sent by boat down the Orinoco River to the meeting place agreed upon for the sale with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, the daily El Tiempo said.
The suspects were taken Saturday to Bogota under strict security precautions.
The four suspects, including two men who said they were Venezuelans, were arrested Friday by Colombian authorities in an area along the Venezuelan border, accused of selling weapons and munitions to FARC rebels.
Colombian Attorney General Mario Iguaran said at a press conference that the four were nabbed by agents of the AG’s office in the Colombian region of Vichada, some 400 kilometers (250 miles) east of Bogota, and had in their possession 4,000 bullets for AK-47 rifles.
Iguaran said that another of those under arrest was carrying Venezuelan identity papers in the name of German Castañeada Duran, while the others were Colombians.
He added that the capture of the four people was related to the arrest hours before in the southern province of Caqueta of the guerrilla Hernando Gamboa Sanchz, known as “Abraham.”
The rebel was one of the security chiefs of Jorge Briceño Suarez, alias “Mono Jojoy,” who in turn is one of the seven members of the FARC leadership. EFE

Just curious, why do you ask? Planning a feast?

Yes, glad to be done moving and just fixed the first dinner this last evening for Foxy and her mum. Was just a joy to work in that kitchen. (before someone chimes in with guesses as to the menu: it was a spinach saute with onions and thick bacon minced in; pork-beef meatballs done Swedish-style in a cream sauce with celery and sliced mushrooms; and Fettuccine. store-bought chocolate mousse cake and fresh cherries for dessert)

and yay, posts are now clearing realtime… I wonder where my previous test posts went, though.

right then, taking a guess or three at “exciting” = uncommon + interesting taste, with a focus of flavorful items:

Living as I do in the Northeast, I have to mention basashi which is simply thinly sliced raw horsemeat. Serves well in small portions with a side of daikon oroshi (grated Japanese radish) that is flavored with a touch of soy sauce.

The other superb choice for flavorful meat is deer venison, but that is not exactly uncommon to you. Serving it as shikasashi, which is raw (like the horsemeat in the example above), or as a lightly blanched addition to o-nabe (a stewpot of vegetables) as a cold weather dish is how I have seen it here.

One addition, from the seafood side, is uni, which is sea urchin “roe” (actually all the insides). That is available as “adventurous food” at many sushi restaurants, served in small rolls of seaweed. It has a texture unlike most anything else.

Patty–

I just talked to Jen a bit ago- she was waiting for the shuttle– I am trying to talk them into to staying at the property in Guayabitos (off of Puerto Vallarta) this November when they possibly take a vacation– They like the sun, outdoors, and of course the ocean– and we talked about if they ever come back here to stay with me– and all of us would go to Greer and stay at the cabin– LOL

I will reiterate– a an absolutley adorable couple– the prettiest smiles– Jen is very pretty– very natural– and her husband is way cool! Boy is he in shape! prettiest blue eyes– so peaceful!

anyhow– enough of that– I will start crying– waaaaaaaaaa!

What story do you have about my friend Rob? Is he wanted in your state? LOL

LDG-

I thought I was adventuresome when it came to trying out different foods– I will skip on the horse meat, the venison– the sea urchin sounds like a maybe– I would rather eat it than step on one as I have!! LOL

uni– I had looked it up on the internet– and I didn’t type in the right clues– so I asked you– but I just typed it in again and found about the same description as yours-

sea urchin roe is more frequently called “Uni”, and it is actually not roe at all; rather it is the organs that produce the roe. In other words, the gonads.

My guess for a topic would be on our “friend” Chavez. He apparently told FARC to give up their fight in Columbia in a speech this weekend…………yeah right.

I wonder how long before the drug cartels will engage in smuggling gasoline into the US to supplement their drug running operations. Maybe they can offer free gifts with every fill up like ths old days here in the states. Free bag of weed with every 20 gallons………

Schalit family receives letter from captive son, gilad

ATLANTA — Representatives of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter delivered today a handwritten letter from Cpl. Gilad Schalit, held in Hamas captivity for two years, to his parents, Noam and Aviva.

At their Damascus meeting in April Hamas leader Khaled Mashal committed to President Carter to transfer the letter, and it was received at the Carter Centers office in Ramallah on Sunday.

President Carter and his staff will attempt to arrange for a return letter from Schalits parents to their son and hope that an arrangement enabling Gilad Schalits release will be reached soon.

@John

Another Chavez thread would be good, lots going with that (including the story you mentioned).

as to gasoline smuggling…

while it happens in a lot of the world, I bet you have already thought of the issue with the sheer tonnage involved to get any appreciable value in the North American market from international smuggling, though. The U.S. in particular is not a good target market as most of the import of petroleum to the ‘States is crude oil and there are controls on what refined products enter the market stream. I could sure see it being a good business (crime) in other places though.

If I recall correctly though, there was a period where hijacking tanker trucks inside the U.S. and sneaking off into another state to sell to an unscrupulous distributor happened. 1970’s?

[...] I like baseball. Yes, despite the miserable, selfish, egotistical players and the player’s union. I like the game of baseball. And every now and then, you get some real good news from the sport, where you see support for “Mom, Apple Pie, and Baseball.” Like here. [...]

Comment by John

LDG………There have been a few instances here on the east coast where tanker trucks were stolen from construction sites. They were recovered within a day with their fuel ( diesel fuel in most cases ) syphoned out. Authorities do not think it’s an organized criminal element, just soem desperate truckers or other heavy machinery operators.
What’s becoming somewhat of a concern to authorities is the apparent hoarding of gasoline by individuals. These people are thinking that the gas situation is going to get much worse, so they are storing the gasoline inside their homes/garages, usually in containers that are not designed to hold fuel. Could be a, litteraly, explosive situation.

We don’t have so much gas theft here, our biggest problem is copper theft! They are stealing copper wire from work sites, etc, because the “cash it in” pay is so high. That and ammonia theft for the small time “crack” betty crockers. Although i would guess that is a “rural” problem, not much call for ammonia tanks in the city.

Kathy Texas–

it was sweet tea– You did pay attention!

John– for you!

If you’re sitting in a traffic jam watching the minutes tick away and you’ve decided honesty isn’t the best policy for you, think of a believable and acceptable reason you’re walking in late. After all, if you were a hiring manager who heard any of these 10 real-life excuses for being late, you’d be suspicious, too.

1. While rowing across the river to work, I got lost in the fog.

2. Someone stole all my daffodils.

3. I had to go audition for American Idol.

4. My ex- stole my car so I couldn’t drive to work.

5. My route to work was shut down by a presidential motorcade.

6. I have transient amnesia and couldn’t remember my job.

7. I was indicted for securities fraud this morning.

8. The line was too long at Starbucks.

9. I was trying to get my gun back from the police.

10. I didn’t have money for gas because all of the pawnshops were closed.

Comment by Susan--AZ

@ the new bloggers–

Adam use to play ball too!

Comment by John

Susan……….lol.

#10 though may be a sad but true scenario. I heard an interview with a pawn shop owner on the radio this morning. He said that he’s seen a definite increase in people coming in to pawn their stuff in the last few months. What’s scary is, he said, is that people are coming in pawning rings, bracelets, watches, etc because they need money for gas.

Another good one is: While driving to work I ran into a guy I’d never met before……..boy, was he pissed.

Comment by John

But the number one excuse for being late for work is…….” My girlfriend said her headache was gone “

ready for my all time favorite joke?

a wife was looking to get her husband something special for his birthday, she thought new golf clubs would be nice, but after digging them out of the garage and looking at them, she realized they were barely used…that would never work.

so then she thought maybe some new tools, she looked at those and she realized they were all new, he didn’t need those.

Then she remembered he loved Bridgette Bardot, so she thought and thought and thought and finally came up with the perfect gift, she would buy some very sexy lingerie, get a tattoo of BB (for bridgette bardot) on her arse and surprise him when he got home.

she runs down down to the Tattoo parlor, and the lingerie store and races back home to surprise her hubby.

but she is too late, the hubby is sitting there in shock, she asks what wrong and he says “why are my clubs and tools out?”

in all the years of the marriage she had never touched his golf clubs or tools and here they were, all out.

he was jumping to conclusions

she immediately stripped off her clothes to show him the new lingerie and cheer him up, but he was already thinking the worse, they had always been conservative and she had never worn anything like that for him…he was fuming now.

she was getting desperate to calm him down, so she knew the Tattoo would cheer him up, she dropped her knickers and bent over to show him the Tattoo.

her husband dizzy with disbelief, staggered back and all he could say is…

“that tears it….who the he!! is BOB??????”
