Grand Isle, LA Update
by Maggie Kerkman
LATEST: These are pictures from just outside Grand Isle, LA … a barrier island with about 1500 residents.
About 80% of the power poles are down in town and sand has covered parts of the main roadway.
I saw the end of a video of Grand Isle on TV and thought I could find it on Fox News Website, but can’t find any kind of video of Grand Isle. Sure am disappointed in website
Wow, it looks like the damage was a little more than expected, but lucky all the preventive measures were taken. I sure hope this doesnt affect the gas prices. I read that the oil companies are current tallying the damage to their Gulf of Mexico installations, from offshore rigs and drilling to coastal refineries.
can you please send me any pictures of grand isle. i have a camp there
thank you

DO YOU HAVE ANY PHOTOS OF GRAND ISLE..MY FIANCE IS A LINEMAN WORKING DOWN IN NEW ORLEANS AND MAY BE HEADING DOWN THERE TO START WORKING ON THE POWERLINES…CURIOS TO SEE THE DAMAGE…THESE LINEMEN ARE AMAZING PEOPLE …THEY ARE WORKING 16 HOUR DAYS..THEY COME FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND STAY TILL THE WORK IS DONE… I ENJOY SEEING AS MANY PHOTOS OF THEIR WORK AS I CAN WHILE HE’S AWAY
Please can anyone send me current picture of Grande Isle. My husband is a lineman working there restoring power also. I would greatly appreciate anyone sending pictures so I can see what is going on there. My kids want their daddy home soon.
Judy,
My husband is a lineman also and was in grand isle too but was just evacuated back to new orleans. im wondering if you know what is going on there. It seems by your last posting you know things ahead of time. Please updat me with any information you have. I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
I am very disappointed in Foxnews! You were only worried about New Orleans and the levees! You had someone in Morgan City, my hometown, but you rarely went to him. After you heard about the levees maybe being overtopped that was all you cared about!! I am an avid foxnews viewer! I watch fox and friends every morning! Since the storm I have not been able to watch due to lack of power then lack of cable, I finally got it all back today! Perhaps I will not go back to viewing foxnews each morning!
michele ..Yes i do know today 9/11 they weere eryone down thre all back in New orleans..The guys from the tent city down near Grand Isle who had been sent to Huma tues. had been evacuated back to New Orleans today…My guy came home today..it’s just crazy down there ..(in the swamps)God bless everyone down there trying to get that place back together..I’ve found some crazy photos and videos people posted…It looks like it will be months before they get that all fixed…Good luck I hope your husband stays safe and comes home soon….
