You report on these tunnels as if they exist in a vacuum. Don’t any of you find it absurd and newsworthy, that the country that brokered the latest “cease-fire” is the same country that is “at peace” with its neighbor and is also the same country that allows arms to be smuggled through its borders into Gaza which is serving to prolong the conflict? The only thing you seem capable of reporting is the brutality and callousness of the Israelis who kill innocent civilians. Is there no blood on Egypts hands? Is there no responsibility on the part of the Arabs who smuggle in illegal weapons, dress like civilians and then use these weapons to fire on innocent civilians? Is Israel really using “disproportionate” force when she tries to protect herself? Did the United States use “disproportionate” force in when responding to Pearl Harbor? In Vietnam? In Dresden? Of course not! When your life is threatened you use whatever force is necessary to stay alive. If the Arabs have complaints there are international forums to discuss those complaints. Unfortunately, they would rather use violence, because they know the news media will always give them a sympathetic ear.
Israel didn’t ask for this war, nor did she do anything more than any other country, in a similar situation, would do. It is upsetting when the news media treats her as if she did, and glosses over the atrocities and illegality of the other side.
