Michael Jackson Memorial – Online and On-Air
I hit the social networking sites to ask people if they’ll be watching the Michael Jackson memorial. On Facebook, Tenzin writes:
he’s a pop god i would surely have attended the concert if i could … but i can only watch it on tv …
The memorial is on TV today, including LIVE coverage on FOX News hosted by Shepard Smith. But for those who aren’t near a TV today, we’re also streaming live right here on FoxNews.com. I’ll be covering the memorial itself and the lead-up to it from 12-2pmET on Strategy Room. Reporters Anita Vogel and Adam Housley are covering the expected family funeral and the public memorial in Los Angeles for Fox News, and may also be joining us with live reports on Strategy Room. At 2pm, I’ll head over to FOX News Radio, where I’ll join host Todd Starnes to discuss the performances, the attendees, and more. We’ll be sure to discuss the cost of today’s events, which has some fans very concerned. On Twitter, Jeff writes:
Label me a fan, but this thing about taxpayers paying for the funeral security is off the wall.
And others say they aren’t fans of Jackson at all, but will still check out today’s memorial. On Facebook, Jeffry writes:
I may watch it out of curiosity because it’s demanding so much attention. If I were out there and if I had a ticket I might attend because it’s an historic event not because I’m a Michael Jackson fan.
Will you be watching today’s coverage? If so, is it because it’s become such a huge news story, because you’re a fan, or for another reason? We want to hear from you. Click “comments” below and share your thoughts.

I amliving in Bohol philippines I am an American who grew up with the music of MJ and I danced continousley his beat and even with his sudden passing on I will continue moving to the beat as he had a style that many loved as an entertainer.
I will try to watch the memorial anyway i can tonight as it is already midnight in the Philippines. I will go back and forth in between my PC and the FOX NEWS NETWORK CHANNEL.
May he rest in peace and may I give my sincere condolences to his family and closed loed ones and friends. I am proud to have been around to share this wonderfull talent with such a dynamic entertainer as he was.
God Bless each and everyone of us!

I’m definitely watching. My heart is with Michael and his family. His death has left such a void. The music lives on but the man is gone. I still can’t believe that one of my childhood heroes is gone. I never thought I’d see this day.
If people all over the world love Michael Jackson we should make a holiday off of him
Excellent coverage of the services! However, I just want to note that you are incorrectly reporting on the funeral cars–primarily the hearse. It is a Lincoln, not a Cadillac.
RIP MJ ill be listening to the stream on http://www.iheartradio.com/cc-common/news/sections/special/michaeljackson/?cmp=sam_mjpage i cant watch on tv since im at work. the services so far are beautiful .
What choice does anyone have about watching? It is on every network, every cable station, including the Hispanic channels.
What a shame that this once darling, talented little boy was turned into a freak by his own family both in life and now in death.
May he finally rest in peace.
Michael Jackson was an inspiration to all, entertainers, singers, songwriters, dancers and fans alike, and his “King of Pop” status will only be surpassed by the size of his heart and his capacity to give. Its amazing how the actuality of his stardom didn’t hit me till he was gone. I always knew he was the “King of Pop” but its as though I took all of his achievements and inovations in entertainment for granted. And now, as the reality of his death sinks in, I look back at his career and I’m in awe (speechless). Without a doubt Michael Jackson was the best that ever did it and he truly earned his crown as the King of Pop. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
A Fan
I think Michael Jackson was a great guy, there is a poll running over on http://www.stonejet.com saying he was evil, go vote for good!
I CAN’T BELIEVE WITH ALL GOING ON IN THE WORLD THAT YOU ARE AIRING THE DRUG ADDICTED CHILD MOLESTERS FUNERAL!!!!!
i’ll be watching,he will be always in our heart, may god rest him in peace
Peter King is right. He is a child molester and pervert. It is a shame and disgrace to honor such an evil person. I am disappointed in Fox News coverage of this pervert. I expect this out of CNN and the Network news but not Fox.
This is no surprise this nation would honor such a person. Any nation given over to queers and abortionist sees nothing wrong with honoring perverts.
Beware when a nation calls evil good and good evil.

I watched the show and I was amazingly touched by it. Farwell Mr. Jackson as well as Ms. Fawcett and of couse the legend of televison himself, friend of Johnny Carson, Jerry Lewis, Dick Clark and other superstars of the entertainment world, Mr. Ed McMahon. We will miss you guys very much.
I am so disappointed in Fox News and their coverage of the Michael Jackson craziness.
I will be there michael live on through your music
Well the funeral is over everybody can move on with their lives and MJ can rest in peace….or will he. I believed from day one of the loss that the doctor had everything to do with MJs death besides the fact that he was addicted to painkillers. I mean can you blame him look at the way he grew up and the publicity he recieved everything that everybody had to say was negative. The man couldnt even wipe his ass without someone saying or snapping pictures of him. God bless your soul MJ you are still the king of pop and on MJ behalfs I will say it for him…KISS MY ASS.
I watched the Michael Jackson Memorial, because he was the King of Pop; he knew how to bring people together. He was so strong and determined. It would be hard to not be a fan of MJ. I watched his memorial out of respect and love for who he was. I got so mad after he passed and received forwarded text messages talking down on Michael, whether it be his plastic surgery or whatever else, because people seem to have no heart. They only seemed to care about the bad MJ had been involved in. They clearly forgot who MJ was! We followed Michael his whole life! Many had watched him grow from a small child! I can remember being young and listening to the Jackson 5, just dancing and singing away! I will never forget the joy Michael Jackson put in people. It’s almost like he gave people life with his music! I just hope people will continue to remember him for who he really was, not the bad things he was involved in. Everyone has had bad things happen in their life, but you can’t focus on the bad or you will get nowhere!
Rest In Peace Michael Jackson and continue to make music in Heaven!
it was so sad when his daughter cried at the memorial
I just want to say that the city of Los Angeles cannot afford this funeral. Many families have gone through this. The ususally make an announcement that says instead of flowers make contirbutions to a memorial fund. How come all those stars that said they loved Micheal so much don’t make contributions to the city to help keep Los Angeles or even the family from footing the cost?
I think that the city of Los angeles cannot afford the funeral/memorial cost. Many families goe through this every day. The family usually asks instead of flowers please make memorial contributions. With all the stars there that professed their love if each would make a contribution neither the family or the city would have to pay!!!
I would hope that there is a decoy casket…the family stopping for lunch…Micheal here you wait in the hearst while we have lunch can we bring you something!
How pathetic! California is shelling out IOU’s, cities are in debt but LA will shell out $2-3 million for Jackson’s funeral event?! I am curious, isn’t LA already in the hole some $500 million + and now they are asking for people to donate to pay for this? WOW! I am curious how many of those in LA are beyond pissed now, because I know if I were one I would be furious! Poor babies, only had to have a small parade when the Lakers won and now shell out tax payers money to pay for Jackson’s funeral circus—–and everyone is shocked that California is using IOU’s! Bunch-of-Clowns!!!
ok enough coverage of this drug usless white cracker faker sicko wacko lets move on and drop the body in the ground he was nothing an will never be anything glasd he is DEAD
no i did not!!!!!! I for one have had my fill him. I will be glad when its all over. Its not like he did anything that great. Ed McMahon served in two wars and he was put on the back burner…….. God bless his soul! jackson sang and danced, period. Big deal. Hes dead let it rest now and report something worth watching!!! Thank you,Barb
HOW PEOPLE FORGET. HE IS NOT A KING OR ANYTHING ELSE. HE IS A PERVERT THAT LOVED TO SLEEP WILL LITTLE BOYS AND THE WORLD IS MAKING HIM A HERO. GIVE ME A BREAK. NO WONDER OUR WORLD IS THE WAY IT IS TODAY. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO COMMON SENSE? OUR HEROS ARE OUR SOLDIERS NOT PEOPLE LIKE mICHAEL JACKSON.
I am a Proud FAN of Mr. Jackson and will forever continue to be…
I learned who Michael was when I was 7 yrs old, and this month I will be 30.
For all the people in this world who like to discredit this man for media out-poors of ill will, I would like to say, Ask your selfs one question.
How many times has a person in your own life, started a false rumor about you. And what did you do to ensure that your circle of friends or family, understood that this was nothing more than a lie? Would you simply alow the madness to continue and build against you?
I am guessing that you would probably do what ever means necessary, to prove your self inocent.
(I am affraid that if the shoe is on the other foot there is always a different answer, isn’t there).
And what would you do if your “Circle of friends and family” included the entire world , because you were an American Legend as Michael is.
So, the next time you find yourself passing judgement on this man, please remember, that some where in your life time you too have had to deal with a rumor/lie. Maybe then you can understand why this man went to any and all levels to reclaim HIS truth..
(I am affraid that if the shoe is suddenly on the other foot, there is always a different answer)
God Bless Michael Jackson, I love you and will hope to see you in Heaven
FOREVER A LEGEND
i didnt get to watch it when is it coming back on if i have cable and what channel?
I know one thing, Peter King is a DISGUST!!!!!!!!!! Fox News and the RACIST guests that they have on their shows make me SICK!!!!!! The brave young men and women of our country, who OUGHT to be given the utmost respect, get 365 days of coverage from the media and a humanitarian such as MJ, can’t get 1 week of media coverage out of the ENTIRE YEAR?????? Fox News and their guests are a panel of big, old, ragedy BABIES!!!!!!!!!! They make me SICK!!!!!!!!!!
Enough about Jackson…Where were all of you when he was alive. Why did all those black commedians make fun of him in their routines and the white comedians who made him the butt of many, many skits and jokes over the past fifteen years. The same comedian/actor who claimed he was a black man through and through, he was theirs is the same one who used Michaels appearance, and manner of speech as a comic routine. Funny all these wonderful things you all have said about him, where were you when he was living. It sure seems he lead a lonely and neurotic life that was getting more bizare as time went by. Sad he had to get someone he did not love to present him with children so he would no longer be lonely. What a sad, sad life, all those possessions brought him no happiness. Where was his family with intervention, where were all those people that loved him with an intervention, where was Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson when he was living. Funny how heros are made at the death of of a singer or and actor, so very sad…Let him rest and let him be
By way of Hannity & O’reilly, Beck, et. al. Fox “news” continues to be the American channel of hate. The coverage and comments of Michael Jackson’s memorial, his life and his legacy has been so distorted by the hacks at Fox that turns the stomach of any honest person.
Ed McMahon died this week. He was a great entertainer, but prior to his stage accomplishments he was a distinguished Marine Corps fighter pilot in
WWII earning six Air Medals and attaining the rank of Colonel. He was
discharged in 1946 and was later promoted to the rank of Brigadier General
in the CA Air National Guard.
Farah Fawcett died this week after a long career in Hollywood as an actress.
After she was diagnosed with cancer, she became an activist for cancer
treatment and devoted her last remaining years encouraging people to seek
treatment. She documented her plight on film and used it to encourage
others to stay positive and upbeat despite their diagnosis and suffering.
Michael Jackson died this week. He was perhaps one of the greatest singers
of modern time. He will also be remembered for his eccentric lifestyle that
included sleeping with a chimpanzee, living in a carnival-like atmosphere at
Neverland, his fascination with Peter Pan, and his numerous masks and
costumes.
He also admitted to finding pleasure sleeping with young boys and
paying out millions of dollars in settlements to the families of these boys
despite being acquitted by a court on one allegation of sexual molestation.

Also, please send it in the exact way you would like it to appear in the book, and if you wish to remain anonymous just write it at the end of your submission.
He will be missed dearly,we all loved him.
he was a great entertainer, but a very, very sad individual. All the media hype has been overplayed and it’s pathetic. I turn the channel now every time I hear anyone mention Jackson’s name. Enough is enough. He was not some great hero, and in fact did nothing but entertain with his gift of music and dancing. WOW! I didn’t watch any of it after the first reporting of his death. I think the hype is getting freakish, just like Michael.
Uh, Dixie you don’t pay $20 million for a rumor. ANY other grown man in the world caught in bed with little boys would have been arrested and convicted. CA gives any celebrity, no matter how minor (i.e. Robert Blake, O.J. Simpson) a pass for any and all crimes. He was a great dancer and singer, but all the African-Americans weeping and sobbing over him need to remember – he only wanted to be white. All the surgeries, the drugs, the weirdness, making his children live the way they do not point to him being a “nice guy” just a very strange one. He would go into stores and point and point at things to buy, have them delivered and then never pay for them! Real nice! Stop idolizing him as if he were a god or something. It’ pathetic. He was agreat entertainer, but very flawed and maybe criminal.
As to the whereabouts of Mr. Jackson’s body, I suspect the medical examiner still has it. When there is a possiblity of a crime or other foul play it is my understanding that the body is not released to the family until all toxicology reports are returned and any charges that may be filed, or arrests made, are considered and/or implemented by authorities. If I’m wrong, I’m sorry.
I am just here to say this:
Life is something that happens when you can’t get to sleep–RIP MJ
Life is something that happens when you can’t get to sleep–RIP MJ
This turned into a terrible circus in the name of honoring a pop star. What a shame!. This entertainer died as he lived, alone. After his trial in Santa Barbra we didn’t hear much except he was living off some middle eastern sheik . Now when he turns up dead he is all you hear. Enough please. This guy was a 50 year old freak (by his own choosing) who dearly loved sleeping with little boys, It doesn’t matter if he had sex with them. This goes against every ounce of normalcy we have. So wake up world. MJ will be buried now and the circus will really be in the main tent when this upside down family start fighting over any bits and pieces of torn off meat that might be left i,e . Money or property. Mj lived a life of torture because of his past (growing up in that family) and now in death he will finally be consumed by the vultures, I am beginning to think this world is full of these kinds of freaks.
I just finished watching the memorial of Michael Jackson. I was from the Manila, Philippines and we watch it live for free. 2 big channel television made that possible without advertisement. What amazing was it start at 1am-4am Wednesday morning Asian early day time. Even though I was asleep I still finished it. The last part is the heartwarming and tearing part when little Parish gave her speech. Another revelation was Brook Shields revelation that they have been great pals since childhood and no but and if in dating each other. But there are many, that supposed to be there like Quincy Jones, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Macharty, Maculay Culkin, and even the aspiring Prince of Bahrain who turned against the King of Pop about 7M of debt. If I where him, he should not that richly small amount anymore. He is the King of Pop and it is a pleasure to be a very special guest in your royal court. Well, what can you say about Arab race??? As an Filipino asian fan, I felt that the Gov. Swazenager should not anymore look for who will pay for the security memorial expenses at Staple Center and nearby. Don’t ever say, no tourist attraction happened at L.A. and California with the untimely demise of MJ. Whatever happened with the cash strap government established by Gov. Terminator 1234… It is all his failure in governance and never Michael. As an outsider and a critic from a 3rd world, I wonder why YOU, californians should ever vote an actor turned overnight politician. Look now? Johanna
Your writer ” Hollie McKay ” Really needs to stop calling Michael Jackson ” Wacko and Jacko”.
No one is impressed — its bad writing, a penny a hundred. Hes dead, leve him alone. Address
him by his name as you would want. Your suppose to be an “impartial” writer not a follower.
Your not funny nor professional.
