After thousands of your comments and emails reached city council members and Berkeley’s mayor, the Berkeley City Council revised the part of its resolution calling the Marines “unwelcome intruders”, but it still wants the Marines to move.

Council members took note of the huge crowds of pro troop supporters outside city council meetings and at the recruiting office (where Code Pink supporters have - thanks to the Mayor - a city approved and assigned parking space) and of the national outrage expressed in The ColbyFiles blog and others.

Still council members have held firm on their demand that Berkeley is no place for brave American women and men to sign up to serve.

Working alongside those of you who support our troops, MoveAmericaForward.org will launch a new ad campaign tomorrow continuing to put pressure on the council to change its mind.

This Thursday, February 21, 2008, a new television ad will be unveiled that condemns the Berkeley City Council for their recent anti-military resolutions.The ad is produced by the nation’s largest pro-troop organization, Move America Forward and comes in response to the Berkeley City Council’s refusal to rescind all of the anti-military resolutions they passed on January 29th, as well as their refusal to apologize to our troops. The commercial will run nationwide on cable news channels and on broadcast network affiliates in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I wanted you to know the effort to get Berkeley on board is ongoing and your continued support of our troops will make a difference.

Barack Obama made an unprecedented 45 minute speech last night (to me it seemed like a convention nomination acceptance speech) repeating his platform and promises for big change. A filled beyond capacity crowd in Houston applauding and hanging on every word while Hillary Clinton spoke to supporters in Ohio with much less airtime.

Upcoming races in Ohio and Texas are critical for Hillary whether or not she can turn the all-important superdelegates her way (they make up 20% of the democratic delegate count). While Obama is ahead in delegates neither candidate is guaranteed the 2025 delegates needed to secure the nomination.

So what do you think Senator Clinton should do:

a) hang in there and keep campaigning because it ain’t over till it’s over

b) bow out and get back to being a senator

c) work out a deal for the #2 spot and join forces with Obama

A devoted psychotherapist finds herself facing a meat cleaver wielding madman on Manhattan’s upper east side. Her colleague hearing her screams comes to her rescue and is critically wounded…the psychotherapist Kathryn Faughey…bludgeoned to death so brutally, two of nine knives the killer brought with him including the meat cleaver are bent. The killer is caught on surveillance cameras casually entering and exiting the building carrying two bags - containing women’s clothing cops say, the knives and adult diapers.

Thomas Ruskin is a former NYPD Detective and he joined me today at the crime scene. He’s currently a security expert here in Manhattan. Especially helpful to me - he lives across the street from where this tale of terror took place. It is a crime scene he describes as about as gruesome as it gets. Both victims put up a brave and extensive fight he is told by NYPD investigators. A man initially called a suspect is questioned in Pennsylvania Thursday then released. Below I’ve posted a sketch based on the horrifying witness account of a patient who happened to be in the office at the time of the attack and the doctor who tried to save Kathryn Faughey’s life.

Investigators wanted to check patient records in this case but were told because of privacy concerns (and strict new laws on patient privacy) they could not. Would you give up your privacy to help cops crack such a brutal crime?

Are you watching the Congressional hearings on the alleged steroid use by Roger Clemens? Roger Clemens ended his opening statement in an emphatic way…insisting that he has never used human growth hormone or steroids. Never.

Brian McNamee continuing to insist he is not lying and that he did inject Roger Clemens. In fact he states today that now that he has had a chance to think about it, he injected Roger Clemens more times than he previously testified to.

So with both Clemens and McNamee insisting their positions are correct….
