Airbus for the Air Force?

A good friend of mine passed along this tip yesterday, and our Pentagon Bureau did a fantastic job getting the info out first and fast to Fox News Channel and the new Fox Business Net.

Everytime I am lucky enough to get a tip like this, I am reminded about a few people who have touched my life and their insistence that networking and keeping friendships is the most important thing in life, next to family and your religion of course.

I can still remember one professor who said it will shape your personal and professional life.

It’s what’s so great about the internet and e-mail — I have known this friend for years, but had not seen him in ten. We stay in touch and he passed along this….still, hasn’t spread across many news outlets.

The U.S. military is looking at the Airbus A380 as a possible replacement for Air Force One and the C-5 cargo plane. By the way, the Airbus A380 jumbo jet is billions over budget and years behind schedule. Traditionally, Lockheed has run the C-5 program, but maybe the Air Force decided to look around for other offers and ideas outside the United States.

I was told there have been two separate inquiries by the USAF’s Air Mobility Command about the A380.

By the way, it is a a double-decker jet.
