Did Drew Peterson say anything this morning that will provide investigators with a clue that helps solve this double mystery?

I’m particularly troubled by one line Drew used in his television interview this morning….”I just controlled my family”. That was his answer talking about the suspicion he had something to do with Stacy’s disappearance. What did he mean? Does Drew ever give a straight answer?

Attorney Joel Brodsky says there is no evidence in either Kathleen’s death or Stacy’s disappearance connecting Drew to either case. But did this interview help or hurt his case?

Just received this from the Will County State’s Attorneys office - confirming the Illinois State Police have notified Drew Peterson and his attorney that it has revoked his Firearm Owner’s Identification Card. This is interesting since Drew, though named a suspect in the disappearance of fourth wife Stacy, has not been charged with any crime.

The revocation of his I.D. card follows an order by a judge that he should get his guns back…an order the prosecutor argued against. So does this move signal a concern about Drew having guns around his children? Could charges be imminent in either the death of his third wife Kathleen Savio or the disappearance of fourth wife Stacy?

The Will County State’s Attorney’s Office announces that it received confirmation from the Illinois Department of State Police on Wednesday that it has revoked the Firearm Owner’s Identification Card of Drew W. Peterson.

The Illinois Department of State Police confirmed that the department sent a letter to Mr. Peterson on Wednesday informing him of the revocation. Mr. Peterson’s attorney also has been notified.Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow on Tuesday sent a letter to State Police Director Larry G. Trent requesting that his department exercise its authority under 430 Illinois Compiled Statutes 65/8 to revoke Mr. Peterson’s FOID card. Neither the letter from State’s Attorney Glasgow nor the Illinois Department of State Police will be released.

Breaking news….the Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow advises that Kathleen Savio’s death (Drew Peterson’s third wife) was a homicide. The new autopsy performed after the case was reopened confirms that her death was not an accident as originally ruled but a drowning and that is why it is now re-classified a homicide. This conforms to Dr. Baden’s conclusions after the independent autopsy he performed for the Savio family.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Feb. 21, 2008JOLIET – Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow announced today that his office has received the final report on the autopsy performed on the remains of Kathleen S. Savio on Nov. 13, 2007.
Dr. Larry W. Blum, the forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy, concludes in his report that the actual cause of Kathleen Savio’s death was drowning and that the legal manner of death was homicide. Dr. Blum’s report was delivered to the Will County Coroner’s Office on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 and immediately forwarded to the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Illinois State Police.“Dr. Blum’s forensic report renders his expert opinion that this is a homicide,” State’s Attorney Glasgow said. “We have been investigating this as a murder since reopening the case in November of last year. We now have a scientific basis to formally and publicly classify it as such.”The complete autopsy report is a component of the investigation into the March 1, 2004 death of Kathleen Savio and will not be released. However, the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Illinois State Police are releasing the following quote from the conclusion in Dr. Blum’s report:

“It is my opinion based on my education, training, experience and personal observations, and to a reasonable degree of medical and scientific certainty, compelling evidence exists to support the conclusions that the cause of death of Kathleen S. Savio was drowning and further, that the manner of death was homicide.”

This was the second autopsy performed on Kathleen Savio’s remains. The first was performed shortly after her death in March 2004. Her body was exhumed on the morning of Nov. 13, 2007, and Dr. Blum performed the second autopsy that afternoon.

In his report, Dr. Blum notes that he reviewed photos taken from the scene at the time of Kathleen Savio’s death as well as reports of the initial scene investigation. He also carefully examined the physical location of Kathleen Savio’s death on Nov. 20, 2007 as part of his investigation.

His report includes the results of microscopic examinations and toxicological tests conducted on postmortem tissue specimens. The specimens examined by Dr. Blum were collected during the first autopsy on March 2, 2004, the second autopsy performed by Dr. Blum on Nov. 13, 2007, and a third autopsy performed by Dr. Michael Baden on behalf of Kathleen Savio’s family on Nov. 16, 2007.

The results of those examinations and tests are part of the investigation and are not being disclosed at this time.

The Illinois State Police are investigating the murder of Kathleen Savio as well as the disappearance of Stacy Peterson. Kathleen Savio’s murder and Stacy Peterson’s disappearance are simultaneously being investigated by a Special Grand Jury that was convened in November 2007.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 18, 2008 JOLIET, IL – The Illinois State Police Investigative Task Force is releasing a statement today concerning the investigation into the disappearance of Stacy Peterson. Sunday is Stacy’s 24th birthday. She has not been seen or heard from since the morning of October 28, 2007. Stacy is the mother of two children and an active member of her family. She always kept in daily contact with various family members and friends. It is apparent that Stacy did not voluntarily cease all contact with her children, family, and friends. Her disappearance has and will continue to be the major investigative focus of this task force. Recently, the Task Force has taken a revised view of this investigation and has begun to utilize other additional investigative resources. These resources have provided additional investigative tracks that were not previously pursued. We will continue to investigate the disappearance of Stacy and utilize all available resources until this matter is resolved.

And do you think that this suggests the investigation remains focused on Drew Peterson or is it going in another direction? Sure is tough to tell.

I was checking the comments sent to the Colbyfiles today and noticed a personal note from Allan Scott:

“I am the trucker that jamie interviewed; I don’t know what happened between drew peterson and myself has any signifigance or bearing on what may come but I know it was him I saw and if he did do it then maybe premeditation can be proved. I documented my location with a gps from my truck (no there’s no way to “fake” it), and gave jaimie access to my cell account directly so she could verify the 911 call. Jaimie also got copies of my logs which are legal federal documents and match my gps. There was some other info to prove I was telling the truth as I am very aware that the image of truck drivers is not a good one. I hope that whoever did this gets whats coming to them because they left the kids without a mother and that is the part that bothers me the most. By the way I don’t know anything about the other 2 truckers and had contacted the FBI quite a few days earlier (before the story of the contact with dp had come out).

Allan is the trucker - not one of the two Illinois Police disclosed claimed they were asked by Drew Peterson to carry a package - but another trucker who contacted me when I was in Bolingbrook to say he had an incident happen at the same “55″ truck stop 13 days before Stacy Peterson disappeared and that he was 100 percent certain it was with Drew.

So concerned that day was this seasoned hazmat trucker, he called 9-1-1 (a call the Bolingbrook PD confirmed to Fox took place) and the FBI. Allan even noted it in his trucker log that two men flashing badges had blocked the exit to the truck stop and he believed he and his hazardous materials load were being threatened.

Last Sunday night I introduced you to ANOTHER trucker who had an altercation with a man he says he believes 100% is Drew Peterson 13 days before Stacy disappeared. This trucker, Allan Scott, who was interviewed by me on Geraldo at Large last Sunday night, has now been interviewed by Illinois State Police and his 9-1-1 call to police the morning of October 16th when he describes how a man he says is Drew Peterson approached him at the 55 truck stop has been confirmed by Bolingbrook Police.

Scott is a hazmat trucker who takes hauling hazardous material seriously. His cell phone records shown to us before our interview show that call to 9-1-1 on the date in question. His trucker logs indicate he had to leave the 55 truck stop for “a safe haven”. He explained how even with all his years experience he felt threatened when he had the encounter he described with two men flashing a badge one of whom he believes was Drew Peterson. Please pass the word that THIS TRUCKER IS NOT THE TRUCKER POLICE ARE NOW SAYING LIED.

While in Bolingbrook last weekend I went out on a search with Dr. Michael Baden. I just received some photos from Dr. Baden and I am posting them here. I also shot video after Dr. Baden was asked by the professional search team to check an area - it looked like a ditch - where they’d uncovered bones.

These turned out to be animal bones and the search for Stacy seems more focused in the water now then on land but the cold weather will work in the investigators favor as you will hear Dr. Baden explain when I post the video interview I shot with him in the field on Monday. So check back!!
