I will post the Trunk Show video tomorrow (Friday) I am going to edit it on the plane. So, to keep you occupied, I want to introduce you to the guy who keeps us all connected at Fox. For example, right now I am blogging on my computer using a Verizon card. Also I can and have blogged using my blackberry. When the bosses call for breaking news I answer on my Fox cell phone…all provided and registered by William Alvarez. He is the wizard and I stopped at his desk and decided to pull out the Sanyo camera and grab this clip of his New York Desk at the Fox headquarters.

Roughly one-third of the the world’s supply of cocaine now comes through Venezuela. That’s an estimated 300 tons that hits American, even European shores. The result, Venezuela is fast becoming the world’s drug superhighway and as long time journalist Eduardo Sepene tells me, it is tearing his country down.

“As a Venezuelan i been very worried. it’s a problem, a big, big problem for everybody.”According to many others we have spoke to about drugs flowing through this country, compounding the problem is yet again, Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez, who has accused U.S. DEA agents of espionage.

Also, Venezuelan police officers tell us that corruption at Venezuela’s highest levels and within the countries security forces have allowed drug cartels free reign and that includes support from president Hugo Chavez, who needs the money since the oil machinery in this country is falling apart and cannot keep up with the demand.We tried for some time, but DEA agents wouldn’t talk on camera about the growing drug trade here in Venezuela, in fear they could be thrown out of the country at any time.

This video comes while driving back from San Diego. As you can see, we are ALL wearing our seat belts AND Keith is following the speed limit. I thought I’d give you a glimpse of how we all cram into our news vehicles to get around Southern California. Oh by the way….it’s Nora’s birthday.

While covering the tiger attack in San Francisco, I noticed this amazing video on our satellite feeds and also ended up on our channel. This is amazing work being done by firefighters in the northeast (Boston or Philly) as they wage a battle against flames destroying an apartment building. It’s about 48 seconds and I had to get back outside to work, so I didn’t get to see the end of the video, but I heard they finished the vent in the roof and then got back down the ladder safely.

 

 

Check this out. I was getting ready to leave my hotel in New York, when out of the window I caught a glimpse of these two men. The billboard was ripping to shreds in the winds as the storm blew through the northeast. We got some snow overnight, but that changed to sleet and slushy rain. These men were taking down the loose parts of the billboard in some tough conditions and I grabbed this video from my room and then again from street level. Watch them work.
